Mom's Turkey Sausage Patties

Reviewed: May 17, 2011
I was worried my husband would figure out it was turkey. He asked me what brand it was (I told him Tyson, which was true) ; ) and he let me know he liked our usual brand better, yet he ate several patties. If he had known it was turkey he wouldn't have even tasted it. I thought it was good. I took the advice of another reviewer and added 1 tablespoon of maple syrup and doubled the seasoning, except for the salt. I think next time I will add a little thyme. I will always use turkey from now on instead of that unhealthy pork sausage. Thanks for sharing!

North Carolina-Style Pulled Pork

Reviewed: Aug. 8, 2008
I put my 8 lbs. of pork butt into the oven the night before, temp. at 300 degrees and in the early morning found it to be cooked through and pull apart tender. I took the suggestion of other reviewers and used only 1 cup of vinegar, and I'm really glad, another cup would have been way too much vinegar for us. After pouring on the sauce, it seemed too dry so I made another full batch of the sauce and that was just enough liquid for an 8 pound pork butt. Also, for a double batch of sauce, I did not double the amount of pepper flakes, I kept it at 4 teaspoons and I'm glad because otherwise it would have way too spicey for us. Thanks for a great recipe, we just loved it.

Strawberry Pie II

Reviewed: Jun. 12, 2008
This is really good! I made one pie according to directions and another pie using Splenda. This makes a very good sugar free pie. You can barely tell the difference. But it is sweeter using the sugar, which makes it a tad better! Thanks for the recipe!

Peanut Butter Vegetable Chicken Soup

Reviewed: Feb. 24, 2008
I thought this was really bland. My husband really liked it. After tasting, I added a lot of salt, a little basil, extra garlic powder and extra black pepper trying to give it a little more flavor, but it was still too bland. If I ever make this again, I will add a little curry.

Shrimp Spread II

Reviewed: Sep. 18, 2006
I didn't care for this but still giving 4 stars as my guests thought it was good. My guests seem to prefer it with tortilla chips and left the crackers untouched.

Freeda's Fabulous Fish

Reviewed: Aug. 19, 2006
I used tilapia and I thought it was pretty good. I think next time I will add 1/4 cup of honey, I think the sweetness of the honey with the cayenne would definitely compliment the sauce. Thanks for sharing your recipe! : )

Spanish Rice

Reviewed: Aug. 9, 2006
This is a good basic recipe but made as is, it would have been too bland for us. I used a can of tomatoes with green chile's, used 1/2 cup of onion instead of 1/4 and added cumin and cayenne pepper. It makes a large amount so I used the leftover's to make stuffed peppers and it really added to the flavor of the peppers. Thanks for the recipe!

Barbie's Tuna Salad

Reviewed: Jul. 20, 2006
Who would've ever thought that tuna could be almost "refreshing"! My husband and I loved it and the only thing I changed was the amount of relish. I used only 1 tablespoon as I am not that wild about sweet relish, and I thought it was just right. This is most definitely my new tuna recipe. Thanks!

Skillet Zucchini

Reviewed: Jul. 18, 2006
This dish has a good flavor but the appearance is not at all appealing. I covered the top with shredded cheddar to try and disguise it's appearance. Still good, just not pretty.

Martha's Vegetable Beef Soup

Reviewed: Jul. 15, 2006
I used some suggestions from other reviewers and doubled the meat, added an onion, macaroni shells, green pepper, and a splash of red wine. I also added about a third cup of honey, which I thought really enhanced the flavor. Thank you for sharing your recipe.

McCormick's BLT Dip

Reviewed: Jul. 5, 2006
I rated this 5 stars because the dip tastes exactly as it's supposed to, like a BLT. I liked it, so did a few others, but it was passed over by the majority of the crowd. Our guests seemed to think it "strange" and couldn't get past the "idea" of a BLT dip. Go figure.......

These are very good but I haven't made up my mind if I like them better than my other, easier to make chocolate cookie recipe. I threw in two cups of white chocolate chips and some nuts. Thanks for the recipe, chocolate lovers everywhere are getting their "fix" with this one.

These are really good! I halved the recipe since it was just my husband and I and it was plenty for the two of us. I will be serving these New Years Day along side the rest of the annual kraut dishes. Thanks for a great recipe!

This gravy has an awesome flavor. It does thicken upon standing for a few minutes. This is my new annual turkey gravy recipe!
