About this Cook
I've been cooking since I was 6 years old, cooking on my own every day since I was 8. )I looked after my brother and myself a lot). My family is from New Orleans and always had large meals together. My grandma was a fabulous cook, I learned a lot from her, my mom, and any one of my friends moms I could so I could learn from different cultures. Over time I became ill with Graves disease and learned that foods with preservatives, bad fats and certain types of food where really bad for me. So now I try to "eat clean" as possible. I still cook all the things I love just always finding a heathy way to meet my destination so I can still love them. Also sharing this love of food with my twin daughters and my family. I watch food shows and research about food as a hobby, this is what I call fun!
My favorite things to cook
Fried catfish, shrimp and grits, fresh pasta, home made cookies and muffins. Huge Thanksgiving dinners with all the sides. Home fries and eggs. Salmon and lots of it! Chicken in a 1000 different ways and flavors. Healthy food that tastes as good as the original version of what I love.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Gumbo, red beans and rice, shrimp creole. Eating crab and chicken being told "your not eating it right I still see some meat there!" LOL

Healthier Basic Crepes
It's a good basic recipe to use, I added a tsp good vanilla, 2 tbsp of cane sugar and some dried lemon zest to add flavor since I don't like syrup. Tastes great with fresh fruit. It really does make 8 crepes exactly. My daughters enjoyed them too.
