Daria's Slow Cooker Beef Stroganoff

Reviewed: Nov. 17, 2012
This turned out great! I made some changes - some suggested by others...stew meat instead of top round, sliced fresh sauteed mushrooms instead of canned, left out the bouillon, used 1/8 cup dry sherry instead of white wine which I added 1/2 hr before serving, left out the flour, used fresh green onion tops instead of chives, left out the salt. I added the entire 16 oz sour cream...I think it was too much, will only use 8 oz next time. But all in all, it was wonderful served over noodles.

Chili Rellenos Casserole

Reviewed: Aug. 22, 2010
This was terrific! I read the comments, and amended the recipe as follows: I used 4 eggs, beat the whites separately which made the consistency more like a real chile relleno. I used 12 oz cheddar and 6 oz jack cheese, because this is what I had on hand. I left out the 1/2 cup milk, and made my own tomato sauce from tomatoes in my garden (tomatoes, onion, garlic, celery, oregano, cumin, salt). I used a 7X11 inch glass baking dish. Of note, I forgot I had a small amount still left over a week later, heated it up in the microwave and had it for breakfast this morning. I think it was even better than the first time!

Lemon Poppy Seed Bundt Cake

Reviewed: Jun. 18, 2010
I was trying to duplicate a cake a friend of a friend brought to my house for dessert. I found this recipe and it is terrific. My changes...to my chagrin, as I was half way through preparations I found that I didn't have any vegetable oil, only olive oil or butter. So...I used a cube of butter to substitute for the half cup oil. While probably not as light as the original recipe, it was still great. Since it is just my husband and I, I cut the cake into serving sized pieces and froze them. It's wonderful right out of the freezer.
