Slow Cooker Pulled Pork

Reviewed: Jan. 2, 2015
Wasn't the most amazing pulled pork ever, but it was good. I did a spice rub on the pork first, though, and next time, I'll sear the meat before putting it into the crock pot.

Chuck's Favorite Mac and Cheese

This was great! I didn't have cream cheese, so I used some laughing cow chipotle cheese. Delicious!

Spicy Eggplant

Reviewed: Sep. 24, 2014
This was great! I used worchestershire sauce instead of oyster sauce, as one of the other reviewers had mentioned and peeled the eggplant first because I usually find the peel to be too tough. It was great! I did cook it longer than recommended, but it was wonderful!

Spinach Tomato Tortellini

Reviewed: Aug. 14, 2014
I really like this recipe, but after making it the first time, I did change it slightly. I like to add at least three chicken, spinach and garlic sausage links, double the spinach (to two cups) and add another can of petite diced tomatoes that I drained. I find that frozen spinach works just fine-- I just thaw it in the microwave and use paper towels to take out the extra moisture.

Beef Samosas

Reviewed: Aug. 3, 2014
The filling was tasty, but I thought the recipe made way too much. I used the dough recipe suggested by another user and it was alright, but would have needed a lot more to use all the filling.

Baklava

Reviewed: Jul. 7, 2014
I followed the recommendations made by others (made an extra 1/2 recipe of the syrup, lowered the temp) and it came out great! Everyone loved it! Some people said they didn't taste the honey as much as other ones that they have had, but I could taste it. Overall, it was great!

Ramen Coleslaw

Reviewed: Jul. 10, 2012
Great recipe! I think I added more cabbage, so I decided to double the sauce, using boullion cubes for the extra seasoning. It ended up being more salty than I wanted, so I added two cooked, cut up chicken breasts, which was one of the best ideas ever.

Garlic Scape Pesto

I loved this recipe!! I ended up adding about 1/4 cup of walnuts and a little more oil and cheese. It was delicious!

General Tsao's Chicken II

Reviewed: Jun. 25, 2012
I followed the recipe except I added a little more zest and chili paste instead of chilis. Next time I would add about 2 tsp of chili paste instead of one, not add so much oil to the sauce, and try using chicken breast instead. I also would try baking instead of frying. It was great the way that it was, but I wish it was healthier! I also doubled the sauce and found this was too much for me.

Excellent! I skipped the almonds and added crasins instead of raisins. It was delicious!

Good, but the taste seems to mellow after being in the fridge for a few days.

Baked French Fries I

Reviewed: Mar. 15, 2012
I love baking fries. I find the cooking time to be too long and usually only back them for 20-25 minutes, depending on the shape/size. I often get lazy and just use cajun seasoning instead of this mixture, but I do enjoy this combination of spices.

Mango Salsa Chicken

Reviewed: Feb. 20, 2012
Definitely needed some lime juice, but all I had was lemon. This time I baked the chicken, but I think it would be much better marinated in a light marinade and grilled.

Restaurant-Style Buffalo Chicken Wings

Reviewed: Feb. 20, 2012
This time I used Frank's Wing Sauce and added some hot sauce. Next time, I'll use regular Franks. I baked a batch and fried a batch-- I found only slighty differences and will bake them from now on. I also will seperate the wings at the joints before I do anything instead of seperating them after cooking.

I used a whole cabbage and took the advice of adding white beans. I also added some hot sauce for a little extra kick.

I followed the recommendations in the first ("most helpful") review and found it to be delicious. I used chipotle mayo to give it just a little spice kick-- came out great!
