Spicy Glazed Pecans

Reviewed: Mar. 13, 2010
Easy and fast. I added cinnamon to the sugar mixture and sprinkled sea salt over the pecans before putting them in the oven. I put them in for 15 minutes exactly and they came out slightly burned. I would recommend 12 minutes

Grilled Peaches

Reviewed: Sep. 13, 2009
I baked the peaches in the oven for 15 minutes at 350 degrees and flipped halfway through. I didn't have peppercorns so I simmered the balsamic with whole cloves instead. I drizzled the balsamic reduction over the cut side and broiled for 2-3 minutes, added the cheese and broiled for 1 more minute. I let them stand for 5 minutes, drizzled with some honey and then ate them as a dessert.

Carmel's Crunchy Pea Salad

Reviewed: Apr. 23, 2008
For a healthy version, I used turkey bacon and fat free sour cream. It tastes great even without as much fat! I'm on The South Beach diet so I bring this as a sack lunch and add the bacon and cashews right before i eat it.

Panna Cotta

Reviewed: Jan. 20, 2008
I made mine low-fat and sugar free. I used Splenda for all of the sugar but I only used about 2/3 of the amount asked for and it was plenty sweet. I substituted fat-free half and half for 3/4 of the cream and used the heavy cream for the rest. I also added 1/2 teaspoon of almond extract to add extra flavor. It was very delicious, very creamy and I didn't even notice the Splenda.

Cranberry Mousse Pie

Reviewed: Nov. 20, 2007
My grandma always made this pie for Thanksgiving. As a child I thought that it was the best tasting thing on earth. Most kids love it as well as adults. I think she used Raspberry jello instead of cranberry.

Ginger Lemonade

Reviewed: Mar. 1, 2006
Great drink! I boiled about 3 of the cups of water with the ginger and sugar to make a simple syrup. I strained that, let it cool down, then mixed it in a pitcher with the lemon juice and the rest of the water. This made it easier since their was just one little pot. If you don't like things super sweet you may want to use more sugar. Or you could just add more lemon juice and water.

The Old Boy's Strawberry Pie

Reviewed: Mar. 1, 2006
Nice easy recipe. I was low on sugar so I only made two thirds of the buttery crumble topping and that was plenty. It tastes better after it's refrigerated for a day. It would probably be good to try with other berries added, or rhubarb would be an excellent addition.

Old Fashioned Peach Cobbler

An amazing recipe. The first time I made this I used old frozen peaches and it tasted ok. The next time I made it with fresh peaches and what a difference. It was like tasting a piece of heaven.

Mint Tea Punch

Reviewed: Feb. 25, 2006
This drink is wonderful. Perfect if you want something refreshing on a hot summer day. I made mine with Lipton Brisk tea, but lemon would be great too. I added a little extra lemon juice since it was a little too sweet. It was also quick and easy too make. Will definitely make again!

Homesteader Cornbread

Moist but flavorless. I prefer recipes that use melted butter instead of oil.

Apple Pie by Grandma Ople

Reviewed: Nov. 21, 2005
I previously gave this recipe a bad rating because my syrup was goopy. the second time I tried it I heated the sauce at low heat and it turned out beautifully. Just don't overheat the syrup and your pie will turn out to be excellent.

Berry Rhubarb Pie

Reviewed: Aug. 19, 2005
Such an amazing recipe. My boyfriend ate at least a third of it! I brushed the crust with melted butter instead of the half and half since I didn't have any and it turned out great and perfectly golden.

Easy Decadent Truffles

Reviewed: Dec. 8, 2004
Very very easy and pretty tasty. My family loved them, but I felt like they were missing something. Next time I will try adding Kahlua or Irish cream. Maybe rolling in a crushed candy like Butterfingers would be good
