Irish Bannock

Reviewed: Feb. 17, 2012
I used the dough hook on my electric mixer and it worked great. I also just cut the butter into small chunks instead of cutting in. I will definitely make again!

Reviewed: May 22, 2009
It's a fruit salad but fits the dessert description to me! Yum.

Slow Cooker Tapioca Pudding

Reviewed: Jan. 15, 2009
This was very easy. I used small pearls from an Asian grocery. It's a great way to avoid wasting milk that's ready to expire.

Rhubarb Dream Bars

Reviewed: Aug. 15, 2008
These were good. The rhubarb was tangy and great, even though I dropped the sugar to 2c. There was too much goo, though, so we had to eat most of the "bars" with a fork.

Julia's Hot Cross Buns

Reviewed: Mar. 24, 2008
Very good. Next time I think I'll up the yeast by 1/2 tsp. as I thought they should have risen a little more (in comparison with my non-machine recipe).

Big Soft Ginger Cookies

Reviewed: Oct. 20, 2007
These are great! I used butter and chilled the dough before rolling into balls. I ended up with twice the number of cookies, so I must have made them smaller than suggested. I will definately make these again.

Cool Whipped Frosting

Reviewed: Aug. 24, 2007
This is great, but I can't call it frosting. Topping, filling, etc. yes, but it isn't a substitute for frosting/icing.

Artichoke and Tomato Chicken

Reviewed: Aug. 24, 2007
This was good. Kinda like a cooked Caprese salad with chicken. I cut up the chicken and browned it, then followed the recipe rather than rolling it to speed up the prep/cooking time. It was good on top of pasta. I would make this again.

Snow Cone Syrup II

Reviewed: Jul. 5, 2007
This was great and easy. However, I only need it about half the strength to make slushies or snow cones.

Middle Eastern Rice with Black Beans and Chickpeas

Reviewed: May 2, 2007
Pretty good. My husband thought there was too much parsley. Half the quantity would have been more than plenty.

My husband loved these! I used crescent rolls instead of the phyllo dough...very easy. I have been requested to make again.

Crabless Chicken Cakes

Reviewed: Mar. 22, 2007
I pulsed the chicken in a food processor instead of shredding it and added an egg to the mixture to make it hold together better. I also didn't have tartar sauce, so I just subbed more mayo. Could have made it a bit spicier. It turned out great! My 9 month old loved it. I will definately make again.

Baked Scalloped Potatoes

Reviewed: Mar. 5, 2007
I boiled the potatoes for 10-15 minutes before I sliced and baked it all. It only took about 30 minutes to bake. I did need to add a bit of salt and garlic.

Cabbage Roll Casserole

Reviewed: Mar. 5, 2007
Very good! I used a jar of spaghetti sauce and precooked everything, including the rice and cabbage, so I didn't need all the beef broth. It only needed to be heated through, about 30 minutes or so. It fits nicely in 2 9x13 pans, great to bake one and freeze one. We had no trouble finishing it off. I will definately make again.
