I read some of the reviews before making this so I sped up the process by precooking the potatoes in the microwave first. I also removed the foil for the last fifteen minutes and the potatoes were a beautiful golden brown. Besides being a little too watery, I thought the taste was pretty good. My husband, however, thought they were just OK, too runny and bland. I had leftovers the next day for lunch and I thought they were even better than the previous day. Perhaps the trick is to let them sit for a while before serving to see if they will thicken.
