anything homemade, I love tradition, although we use store brought sauces and spices, from time to time, we love making healthy, hearty home cooked meals.
My favorite family cooking traditions
We all cook together, my 7 year old daughter, Clara likes to play cooking channel monsters when we cook together, eggs beconme dragon eyes, sliced almonds snake scales etc...our family spends more time in the kitchen than anywhere else in the house!
My cooking triumphs
I make a good cheescake, and empanadas, an Argentine traditional meal, I also have finally learned to make a decent paella and Spanish slow cooking stews.
My cooking tragedies
I can not make a decent rice!!!! no matter how may many times I try it is either too soggy or burnt dry! muffins are not my strong suit.

Grandma's Slow Cooker Vegetarian Chili
Lovely! My family really enjoyed this meal. I used dried black beans and cooked them in a pressure cooker with the peppers, onions and water for about 50 mins, then added the rest of the ingredients, as I do not live in the states, and I could not find black bean soup. Just one word of caution for those of you cooking outside of the states, the chili powder might not be the same, I used 1/2 tbl spoon of Indian chili powder and it turned out pretty spicy, so I would add 1 tsp at a time. Thank you for a great recipe.

Greek Yogurt Coleslaw

Homemade Peanut Butter
I tried this recipie, followed it to the letter, unfortunately it was dry and pasty, I let my processer run for a very long time but it was not getting any better. I decided to add 100 grams of butter and some maple syrup to sweeten and it turned out ok. I would definately not make this recipie again, one star without modifying the recipe, after modifications two stars, I will however, keep trying different varieties until I get it right :-)
