About this Cook
I've been cooking for years but just recently have I really come to enjoy cooking and experiment with new recipes. I now love to try new things and enjoy cooking for friends and family and use fresh herbs. I even grown my own herbs and some vegetables that I use for cooking.
My favorite things to cook
My favorite things to cook are Comfort Foods, Asian and Chicken dishes. Anything with meat and potatoes is great but I also love stir fry recipes that use lots of fresh veggies and herbs. I've just begun experimenting with seafood recipes as well.
My favorite family cooking traditions
All holidays with my family are great but I guess I love Thanksgiving best. My sister and I share cooking duties for our small family of 11 and enjoy making the traditional turkey with all the trimming and trying out new recipes for side dishes and desserts.
My cooking triumphs
My most favorite cooking experience is when I grilled and made all the side dishes for a party of 30 and everything turned out fantastic and everyone asked for the recipes to take with them. My second best experience is when I cooked an entire breakfast with a scrambled egg and potato casserole, bacon, coffee and bagels on a little Smokey Joe charcoal grill at a rustic campsite.
My cooking tragedies
The worst cooking experience I had was when making garlic soup and pureeing the hot soup in the blender it expanded and exploded out of the blender all over the stove, walls, ceiling and me!

Amazing Italian Lemon Butter Chicken
Amazingly Bland. I made this recipe yesterday exactly as written except I substituted asparagus for mushrooms due to allergies. Found it to be lacking in seasoning. In fact, I thought the asparagus was the best part of the recipe. I love all the components...chicken, wine, butter, lemon, capers and bacon...but in this recipe they just didn't seem to come together properly. It's edible but I'm continuing to search for a more flavorful version.

Bushwacker
We got Bush Wacked! Made this drink as a shot to welcome guests upon arrival to our party. It was loved and devoured by all! Great flavor and has quite the kick!

Beef and Barley Soup III
Fantastic! Great way to use leftovers. Had a leftover pot roast with potatoes, carrots and onions. Cut all that up finely, added some extra fresh carrots, celery, garlic and onions as well as soy sauce. Omitted wine and cabbage as I didn't have any on hand. Simmered entire pot for about 30 minutes total. The house smelled wonderful! Soup thickened upon cooling as barley absorbed the liquids. Made a huge pot of thick comforting soup.
