Spaghetti Sauce II

Reviewed: Mar. 9, 2010
Very good! I had to add a bit more sugar (I think my tomatoes were more tart than usual). Overall a great recipe--uses ingredients on hand and doesn't require mincing a bunch of fresh herbs :) Thanks!

Margaritas to Die For

Reviewed: Feb. 8, 2010
I have made this recipe countless times and will never buy margarita mix again. If you are a margarita or tequila connosieur, you will love these and not mind the extra work involved. If you would ever consider putting beer or frozen limeade with your tequila, you will probably say these are too much trouble. If you do decide to make this delicious concotion, try these tips: 1. If you are in a rush, mix it in a glass bowl or cup and microwave for about 20 seconds to dissolve the sugar and bring the oil out of the zest. If you have time to wait overnight, marinate in the fridge and shake occasionally. Mason jars work great for this ;) 2. Unless you like drinking greenery with your margarita, strain the zest out before mixing/serving. 3. You can easily reduce the tequila by half and still feel good after drinking it :) 4. You probably won't get a full four drinks out of one batch so go ahead and plan to make a double!

Very good! I made half the recipe and baked in a 9" premade graham crust for convenience.

Creamy Peach Dessert

Reviewed: Feb. 8, 2010
Delicious--lots of compliments! I baked in an 8" square pan and found the cream cheese layer to be very thick but this is fine with us! You could probably reduce this by half to save ingredients. And if you're wondering if you can substitute instant pudding mix--you can (I found out after the fact!). Definitely worth a try, especially if you have fresh peaches on hand.

Creamy Sourdough Snack

Reviewed: Dec. 24, 2009
Good dip. I also added some Ranch powder and substituted minced onion and chives for the green onion. I didn't have a bread bowl but baked it in a dish and served with crackers. All the young men from a local residential facility gobbled it up.

Crunchy Apple Bread

Reviewed: Nov. 16, 2009
I omitted the raisins and used 2 medium Red Delicious apples. I baked it in a mini muffin tin (yielded about 4 dozen muffins) at 325 for 15-20 minutes. I also topped it with a simple crumb topping (2 tablespoons butter, 1/2 cup brown sugar, 1/2 cup flour) before baking to give it a little something extra. While these weren't the most moist muffins ever, they are definitely good and worth the ingredients used.

Jicama and Pineapple Salad in a Cilantro Vinaigrette

Reviewed: Mar. 5, 2009
This is a nice, refreshing recipe. I served it topped with grilled chicken. I also only used one serrano pepper and it still had plenty of kick.

Warm Crab Parmesan Dip

Reviewed: Dec. 21, 2008
Very tasty--I got rave reviews at a holiday function. I added some Old Bay seasoning and lemon juice to give it a little kick. Plus I used fresh crabmeat (no other option when you live on the Gulf Coast!).

Tiramisu II

Reviewed: Oct. 4, 2008
Absolutely the best! I would increase the coffee to 1 cup, keep the rum at 2 tablespoons, and add 2 tablespoons of kahlua. I brushed this mixture on the ladyfingers when layering in the dish. I would also increase the whipping cream to 2 cups to make this layer a bit more generous and add a little powdered sugar. Definitely try this recipe; you won't be disappointed!!!

Orange Vinaigrette

Reviewed: Sep. 24, 2008
Very tangy. You will definitely want to add 2 tablespooons or so of oil to help it stick to your salad. I served it with endive, thinly sliced green apple, toasted pecans, and crumbled goat cheese--an excellent fall salad!

I made these for a baby shower but chopped and blended all the ingredients together to make a spread and put onto tea sandwiches. Very delicious!

I used this recipe for a baby shower and everyone loved it. I chopped all the ingredients up finely since my sandwiches were on the small side.

Creamy Shrimp Stuffed Cherry Tomatoes

Reviewed: Sep. 12, 2007
Delicious! I made these tonight on a trial run before a big baby shower and they are wonderful. I used the larger cherry (not grape) tomatoes and I had just enough filling for two pints. I boiled my shrimp beforehand with some Zatarain's Shrimp and Crab Boil. To the filling mixture I added garlic powder, minced onion, and cayenne pepper. This combination is perfect and makes a savory little treat that I am sure will be a hit. Very easy to prepare if you have the Pampered Chef Cook's Corer and Easy Accent Decorator. Thanks so much for a great recipe!

Baklava

Easy and delicious! I roasted my nuts a little; next time I may add a little salt and butter when I roast them. I also made this recipe with chopped macadamia nuts and white chocolate chips in the bottom layers. All my test tasters said they were even better that way!

Definitely microwave the apples beforehand and increase the cream cheese to 3 or 4 blocks (and increase the eggs accordingly).

Tiered Cheese Slices

Reviewed: Dec. 23, 2006
What a nice addition to your party table! The only change I made was to increase the cream cheese to 12 ounces instead of 8. The combination given on the site is good, but the possiblities are endless. I made a ranch version by adding ranch mix, bacon, and green onions to cream cheese and layering with cheddar slices. You could also do an Italian version with herbs and chopped black olives.

Harvest Pumpkin Tarts

I'm not a big pumpkin fan, but even I thought these were good. And easy, too! I used pumpkin pie spice instead of the other spices and put in about 1 or 1-1/2 teaspoons.
