About this Cook
I am a re-married widow and student with 2 school aged children. Love having a large family and stay at home to take care of everyone!
My favorite things to cook
Large dinners with plenty of left-overs (who wants to cook EVERY night?!), holiday meals, appetizers for large parties or small get-togethers, and of course, desserts.
My favorite family cooking traditions
I am the only one that really cooks, and I enjoy preparing the same dishes that everyone looks for every holiday.
My cooking triumphs
Holiday dinner for all of my girlfriends right before each Christmas, large parties for 50+ people, showing my husband what I can do - I told him before he married me that I couldn't cook! ;o)
My cooking tragedies
A volcano cake for my daughter's luau birthday party - UGLY, but delish!

Country Apple Dumplings
Oh. My. God. As if this recipe needs one more review, I am writing one anyway. There are so many I haven't read them all to see if others did this, but the changes I will try next time will be half the butter, half the sugar (I used 50/50 white and brown) half the Mtn. Dew, and reduced fat crescents. I'll let you all know how it goes! I can't imagine they wouldn't still be amazing, and there will be less excess liquid in the pan after baking. Also, the only apples I had on hand were honeycrisp and though they are a bit expensive, they were great in this recipe as well!

Baked Potato Soup V
so easy and quick! Added cayenne pepper for a little zing - the hubs requires it. ;)

Tiramisu Layer Cake
My husband loves this cake, and when the first one I made was gone, he asked for another! I make it with three 8" square pans - I thought it looked more "tiramisu-ish" that way!
