About this Cook
I'm 58 and just lost a bunch of weight by jogging. The only thing that relaxes me is cooking, besides meditating and jogging. I love people's new recipes, for they are hard to create and harder still to catch on. I want to create a new classic cookie, cranberry & oatmeal & dark choc & chipotle! Spicy one. It has to have a good name, and I need help with that. Name that cookie!
My favorite things to cook
Cookies -just cuz they are easy and a big hit. But I love to try new things, like roll up beef with lovely stuff inside, and make my own stock and hubby makes cream cheese. I bake a mean boiled bagel - New York Style they say. Love me some meat and potatoes. Love me some Asian and Korean especially. Married to an Eastern Indian for a while and love Indian food, not the Americanized versions, but the real deal with all the Indian spices which I currently have in my pantry, including asefetida!
My favorite family cooking traditions
Thanksgiving, where all the family came together and I could smell the house all day, and grandma taught me how to cook the stuffing and the lemon meringue pie! Love that woman!
My cooking triumphs
I made a shrimp dish with pasta, a small plate, that was inspired. It was the best thing I ever ate or made. I have not re-created it since. I make a mean spinach AND beef lasagna, to die for. My bagels are chewy, like they should be!
My cooking tragedies
omg casseroles! I sometimes try to make up a new casserole dish and I always fail! It is a special recipe to get the liquid to food ratio right so the thing isn't too wet or too dry. I haven't discovered the formula yet!
