Cool Whip Cookies

Reviewed: Aug. 8, 2008
Very simple recipe and great for making with kids. I decided to try it with the Lite version of Cool Whip, this produced a very lemony but sticky batter. I did them as a drop cookie and sprinkled with the powdered sugar.

Dawn's Candied Walnuts

Reviewed: Dec. 23, 2002
I had leftover walnuts from my holiday baking and started poking around for something to do with them. This was just perfect! They made a great last minute gift and are yummy in a salad.

Mom's Dill Sauce

Reviewed: Sep. 11, 2002
This was excellent. I substituted sour cream for buttermilk as I didn't have any on hand, so it was thicker than probably intended, but it was lovely!

Berry Trifle

Reviewed: May 8, 2002
I didn't use pound cake or angel food cake, just regular cake I had frozen overnight when my first attempt at a ladybug birthday cake failed. It was fabulous, adults and children alike gobbled it up. Great way to use up an otherwise ruined cake.

Cranberry Pork Roast

Reviewed: May 8, 2002
Great recipe! My slow cooker must be pretty hot because my roast was done a few hours sooner and it was larger than the one stated in the recipe.

Grandma Flo's Shipwreck

Reviewed: Apr. 22, 2002
I added oregano to the potatoes and precooked the hamburger with some extra seasoning. I only needed to cook for about 45 minutes and topped with mozzarella. My toddlers loved it!

Old-Fashioned Sea Foam Candy

Reviewed: Jan. 6, 2001
I so wanted to make this candy, it is my sister's favorite from the candy shops. I tried it four times and each time it was a disaster! I have no idea what I did wrong, I stared at the candy thermometer the whole time.

Buttermilk Pie with Molasses

Reviewed: Nov. 26, 2000
This is very good. Everyone loved it, but it is _very_ rich. It reminded me a bit of those old fashioned buttermilk doughnuts...with the glaze. Yummy!

Praline Pumpkin Pie I

Reviewed: Nov. 26, 2000
I probably did not have the right kind of custard mix, because mine never set up that well. The praline was delicious though, so I will probably make it again with the more traditional pumpkin custard instead.

These are wonderful! Perfect for when you've got the munchies and few ingredients on hand. I'm going to use this recipe in my Kindergarten classroom, that's how easy it is.

My husband is Canadian and for the last 4 years I've heard him whining about butter tarts. Thank heavens I finally found this recipe. It's easy to whip up and he says they are exactly like the ones back home!
