Homemade Shake and Bake Mixture

Extremely salty!! I may try it again and omit the salt completely and decrease the pepper. We had to scrape the crust off just to eat it. A waste of a good pork chop.

This is now our standard bread recipe for sandwiches . It is fantastic and forgiving. I usually follow the recipe exactly (except use butter instead of shortening) but I've also used canola oil, omitted the milk powder and used 1/8c milk instead of water and I never check the temp of the water.

Beefy Taco Dip

Very simple but it is better doubled and layered! Spread the cream cheese on the bottom of a 9x13" pan, top with cooked and drained ground, seasoned beef mixed with salsa and top with taco cheese. Bake until bubbly and cheese is melted. It will go so quick!

Best Chocolate Chip Cookies

Great easy recipe. I've made it as is, with butter flavor Crisco, as bars spread in 9x13 pan (doesn't work well at all!) and as a large cookie in a springform pan (which works if you only use about 1/3 to 1/2 of the batter. Really does have crispy outside and chewy inside. Thanks for the recipe

Day-After-Thanksgiving Turkey Carcass Soup

I used mostly water instead of chicken stock but added some of the leftover gravy to thicken it up. Fantastic. My family is still talking about it from last year and are looking forward to me making it again tonight.

Health Nut Blueberry Muffins

Beth's Spicy Oatmeal Raisin Cookies

I love these cookies but I do cut the cloves in half since most of my family doesn't care for cloves. I've also omitted it completely and used butterscotch chips instead of raisins - they vanish.

Annie's Fruit Salsa and Cinnamon Chips

Fabulous! I did use Stacy's Cinnamon Sugar Pita Chips instead of making my own and cut the sugar/jam but people were starting to put it in serving bowls with the last bits of chip crumbs on top and eating it as dessert. You could probably do that for real - it is that good!

Mom's Zucchini Bread

Great recipe. I did use other reviewers suggestions and used 1/2c applesauce to replace 1/2 of the oil; 1c whole wheat flour to replace 1c of the white flour and used 1c of brown sugar and 1c of white. One large zucchini gave me about 2c. It was dense and moist and didn't last long here!

Cranberry Hootycreeks

I just made this recipe exactly as stated (and you can "cream" butter and egg it just won't look to good) and it was fantastic. Half the batch is gone - I will be making this jar for gifts! P.S. Does anyone know what a hootycreek is?! :)

Bagel and Cheese Bake

I too increased the eggs, skipped the parsley and parm cheese and added extra cheddar. I also used pre-sliced bagel "chips" (day olds that the bakery slices up) and it came out good. Even though the top layer was covered in egg it still came out tough. Overall pretty good and I'll likely try it again.

Amazing Pork Tenderloin in the Slow Cooker

It was way too salty (even with low sodium soy sauce) and very unappealing visually. The meat was edible but overall a waste of a nice pork loin. I will not be making this again.

German Apple Cake I

Easy to make and it tastes fantastic. Moist and dense. I did use half applesauce and half oil and cut the sugar by a half cup and increased the apples to 5c. There is none left!

Hot Spiced Cider

WAY too sweet as written... be sure to decrease the amount of sugar. Many people dumped their servings at a recent get together. I made it in the crockpot and will likely try it again with no sugar.

Hot Mocha Drink Mix
