I tried this for the first time for my 84 yr old mother for Christmas.I was nervous, having never worked with phyllo dough.I decided to go with Sara Bear's tips, only making 1 1/2 times the sauce.(3/4 cup water,1 1/2 cup honey.) and with a little sugar in with the nuts. She didn't say if she cut the sugar ,since there was so much more honey. So, I think I only put about 1/4 cup sugar in the syrup.I didn't know if that would make the sauce too thin. But I refrigerated the sauce for a couple hours til I got around to doing the rest.Well, my mother said it was as good if not better than any she had eaten..I was so glad.Oh, and I baked it at 325 for 50 minutes. But it depends on your oven.I have gas....and I know electric can burn faster.
