Rhubarb Cake I

Reviewed: Jul. 26, 2011
This didn't come out as moist as I would have liked. I did add another cup of rhubarb as was suggested by several others. I also elected against the crumble top. My mother always used cinnamon sugar instead - so that's what I did and I don't regret it at all.

Baked Teriyaki Chicken

Reviewed: Nov. 30, 2010
Good recipe. Easy to boot. Used 5 chicken breasts with the same volume of sauce. Covered and baked at 425, and then flipped, resauced and popped back in for another 15 mins at 350.

Crisp Lemon Sugar Cookies

Reviewed: Apr. 24, 2010
These are fantastic. Based on what I had in my kitchen, I revised slightly. And the results are great. Instead of half butter, half shortening I used all butter. I also used lemon zest (of 2 lemons) and lemon juice (of 1.5 lemons) instead of the extract. I rolled them in my hands to form a ball and then rolled them in granulated sugar. I didn't flatten them on the sheet. Instead I let them rise into little domes.

Best Brownies

Reviewed: Jan. 31, 2010
I used dark cocoa and added chopped candied cherries in (about a 1/4 - 1/3 cup). Had to play with the frosting a little to get the consistency right. But, man, these are some of the best brownies I've ever made. This recipe is a total keeper!!

Herb Roasted Pork Loin and Potatoes

Reviewed: Dec. 8, 2009
This turned out wonderfully. Used potatoes, and carrots, on the recommendation of another user. Also cooked in a saute pan, I cooked onions and mushrooms which I added to the roast pan after it was done. This recipe went over very well with the family and made a wonderful amount of leftovers for lunches and dinners.

Salmon and Spinach Fettuccine

Reviewed: Aug. 23, 2009
I made this for my family - my husband, his parents, and our kids. It went over very well. My husband was talking about it when he woke up the next morning! There were a few things I did differently, but I imagine this recipe to the letter would be terrific. I did a 50/50 mix of half and half and milk; I used fresh salmon that I precooked on the grill; and for simplicity I used pre-grated Parmesan cheese. It turned out wonderful. Served with garlic toast. I will try it with smoked salmon next time, because there will certainly be one. This is a great meal for a dinner party; of course, with people who like salmon!

Absolutely Ultimate Potato Soup

Reviewed: Jan. 28, 2009
This soup is terrific. I made it for my family, and served it simply with just some garlic bread. I skipped the step of pureeing half the soup - it sped up the process, and tasted wonderful regardless. I also added mushrooms, but imagine that this recipe just as is would be great.

Cream Cheese Sugar Cookies

Reviewed: Jan. 1, 2009
I tried these as an alternative to butter cutouts. They came out wonderfully, and had a nice touch of creaminess about them that made them very interesting. I'll definitely make this recipe again. I didn't vary from the recipe at all, and only added a basic frosting to them.

Dutch Cookies

Reviewed: Jan. 1, 2009
I made a variation of this over the holidays- basically I omitted the raisins because I forgot them on my shopping list. They came out wonderfully anyway. To add a touch more sweetness, without overdoing it, I put a simple sugar glaze on the top of each cookie. They came out quite nicely.

Angel Whispers

Reviewed: Nov. 30, 2008
These cookies are very light and tasty. I did NOT alter the recipe as some of the other reviewers suggested. Though there was one tip I did use - I microwaved the filling rather than using a double boiler, whisking every 30 seconds or so and it came out really nice. The cookies are a little crumbly when they are finished; which I imagine could be corrected by making the batter less dry with yogurt, sour cream, etc. But I like them how they are. I will add this cookie to my Christmas Gift list :)
