Hi Everyone,

As I have previously mentioned, I am a graduate student working with a spice company for my thesis project, which is a full-scale marketing research study. My project pertains to online purchases of food-based products.

If you could submit a brief answer, it would be greatly appreciated! Thanks! :)

Here's the third question: "When purchasing products online, do you have a preference for online retailers (i.e. Amazon, Walmart) or stand-alone websites (purchasing direct through product website)?  Also, please briefly explain the reason for your preference.

I like to see reviews so amazon is a favorite. I check for equipment reviews at 1st and they'll usually have a link to a site to buy it. If I can't find it cheaper doing a google search, I just purchase through their link.

It all depends on what I need. I check Amazon & Walmart but sometimes the stand-alone website will have something they don't or the price will be better or they will be offering free shipping or another incentive that sways my decision.

Free shipping (or really cheap) is what I usually look for. I recently went online to track down a spice blend I really like and found that if I ordered 6 (instead of the 2 I was going to order) I could get free shipping. They sold 4 more than I intended to purchase - I now have some Christmas gifts stashed away.
