World's Best Lasagna
Great recipe! I made this for the first time, and everyone in the family loved it. I will definitely make it again!
I made some revisions, which made the dish so much better. I used mild Italian sausage, instead of the sweet. The mild sausage had quite a bit of seasonings, including fennel and red pepper flakes, so I did not add those.
I added 1cup fine chopped onion and 3 cloves of garlic. Two tbsp. brown sugar ilo white, fresh basil. The salt was way too much, as others have stated here. The sauces added have plenty of salt in them. Taste, and then add if needed. I added 1tsp. There was also no olive oil in this recipe, as included in many similar recipes.
My mom always added olive oil, so I added 1/4 c. This not only gives wonderful flavor, but also prevents the lasagna from becoming too dry. I increased the basil and parsley to triple the amount listed. I did use more fresh grated Parmesan(not the powdered version in the can) and mozzarella.
The result was an amazing, delicious, authentic dish! Love it!
