Grandmother's Buttermilk Cornbread

Reviewed: Oct. 17, 2004
Wow! I made this to go with chili on a cold rainy night. I'm not a big cornbread fan,,so I made it for my husband and kids. They loved it, in fact my husband said it was the best cornbread he's ever had! I even liked it...thanks for the great recipe!

Black Pasta in a Pink Gorgonzola Sauce

Reviewed: Nov. 14, 2004
Really a delicious sauce! I didn't stress myself out by trying to find the black pasta...mainly because my kids would have freaked! It was a tad bit salty for my taste,,,must have been the gorgonzola...I may scale back a bit on that next time,,but we loved it! Thanks!

Honey Curried Roasted Chicken and Vegetables

Reviewed: Jan. 4, 2005
This recipe is EXCELLENT! My husband and daughter love it,,and so do I. I used skinless, boneless chicken thighs, and rice instead of potatoes. SO GOOD! Thanks!

Candied Chicken Breasts

Reviewed: Jan. 11, 2005
This was excellent! I did make a couple of changes. I skipped the breading part, to save time, calories, and clean-up. I used skinless, boneless chicken thighs instead of breasts. I also skipped the salt, and I was out of onions so I used a shallot and it was great. I thought it was pretty sweet, but my husband and kids loved it. I will definitely make again!

Mexican Lasagna

Reviewed: Jan. 12, 2005
This was just okay. I used oven-ready lasagna noodles to cut back on cooking time. It was tasty,,but just didn't "WOW" us like so many other recipes here. I probably won't make this again.

Baked Pork Spring Rolls

Reviewed: Jan. 16, 2005
WOW WOW WOW! My husband and I loved these....so much better than at a restaurant, and so much cheaper! They were a bit more work than I expected, so if you are not used to this type of cooking, leave a little extra time. But so worth the effort! Will definitely make again. I cut back on the cilantro,,just not a big fan of it, and added a little more chile sauce. So good!!! Thank you Rayna.

Absolutely Ultimate Potato Soup

Reviewed: Jan. 18, 2005
Considering the rave reviews and high calories,,I was expecting a much more tasty soup. It was pretty bland for my husband and I. I won't be making this again.

This was great! I omitted the orange zest, cut back a little on the ginger. I also added red pepper flakes to add a little spice. PERFECT! I'll make again! Thanks

Exquisite Pizza Sauce

Reviewed: Jan. 26, 2005
My family LOVED this sauce! We have been in toronto for three years, and haven't been able to find any pizza places that compare to what we were used to in the States. This sauce was it! We tend to like sweeter sauces, so I used what the recipe called for. I'll definitely make this one again! Thanks!

Garlic Chicken

Reviewed: Feb. 3, 2005
I agree with everyone! It was excellent...I will also add more garlic because we love it and although we could smell it cooking, wasn't very strong tasting. I would also add something to the breading next time as it was slightly bland for us, though we tend to like things "zippy"...Can't wait to have again..Thanks!

General Tsao's Chicken

Reviewed: Feb. 7, 2005
This is a great starting point recipe, that has lots of potential. Unfortunately, I didn't heed the warnings of others, and used the recommended amount of cornstarch. Way too much! The sauce thickened so quickly I had to add over a cup of water just to get it edible, which probably cut down on the flavors. Next time I'll use a fraction of what the recipe says. Otherwise not bad!

Asian Fire Meat

Reviewed: Feb. 9, 2005
I thought this was great,,my husband thought the soy really dominated the recipe,,and I thought the sesame was strong. We both liked the amount of spice,,,Next time,,I'll cut back a little on the soy, a little on the sesame, and maybe add a little more brown sugar. Was good and will make again. Thanks!

Everyone loved this dessert,,most had seconds. I skipped the peanuts, figured the kids wouldn't like them, and it didn't seem like anything was missing. Just great,,thanks!

Chewy Chocolate Chip Oatmeal Cookies

Reviewed: Feb. 28, 2005
These cookies are easy to make and delicious too! I'm on a mission to cut out store-bought treats for my kids, so this recipe is a welcome addition to my favorites. I didn't change a thing, made the whole recipe, cooked half, froze the other half in little balls to be used another time. Thanks!!!
