very good... I added flax seed meal, try to make it a little healthier... but then I covered them in dark chocolate butter cream icing

Nanaimo Bars I

I am a horrible baker because I don't like to follow a recipe, and certainly do not like to use a measuring cup. I get by with my desserts, and some are hits - while some I keep to myself. I used this recipe as a guide because I liked that the egg was cooked - best to melt butter, remove from heat and add egg to the just melted butter - otherwise you'll get scrambled eggs in your chocolate. it is safe to eat an uncooked fresh egg (best to wash in hot water before cracking it open)... but I just feel better cooking it - especially from the supermarket

Scottish Oat Scones

My mother made something like this as a special treat for breakfast. We'd take out all the jams and spreads out of the fridge and had a buffet of possibilities. I think next time I will cut back on the baking soda, I thought 4tsp was too much, and I did taste it

Eggs Benedict

I just made this recipe... It was pretty good.. I crushed a clove of garlic into juice from one lemon... and let it sit for a while.... I tried not to get most of the garlic in. Juice from one lemon is a little too lemony. I donno if this makes a difference but I was tought in chef school, that you should always whisk side to side, up and down... not in a circular motion. I also put the finished product under the broiler to toast the tops of of nice... YUmmmmm

I know this recipe as "Cookie of the Month" from a few major publications.. Very good... I cut the veg. oil down a bit.. and added chocolate chips... YUMMM

Irish Soda Bread

great!! will use this one again.. I couldn't get my hands on some butter milk so i used 1cup skim milk with 3/4 sourcream... the liqued wasn't enough, and needed more milk...but tured out great in the long run... becarefull not to over bake, mine needed 50 minutes... but it doesn't act like muffins, follow the guidelines

Grandma's Polish Perogies

one of the best Perogie dough recipes i've used.... yes it's a bit hard to roll out.....but if i can do it...so can everyone else... my filling although i've always just improved... with potatoes, cheese(s), bacon, onion, garlic... yummm
