Awesome and Easy Creamy Corn Casserole

Reviewed: Jan. 23, 2013
Very good, but was almost more like a very moist cornbread rather than a creamy casserole. I didn't change a thing, and would definitely make it again the same way. It was sweet, and I loved the kernels of corn in it. Even the leftovers were good two days later reheated in a foil packet in the oven. My DIL couldn't stop eating it, and my son said he could make a meal of it. Hubby and grandsons liked it, too. I'll make this again for sure. Thanks!!

Potatoes Supreme

Reviewed: Jan. 23, 2013
Everyone I made this for loved it. Didn't use cream of chicken soup (don't like it) so substituted cheddar cheese soup. My only other change was to use a mandoline to evenly slice the potatoes about 1/4 inch thick, so didn't parboil them. It was cheesy, gooey goodness. Thanks for a recipe I'll definitely repeat!

Hasselback Biscuits

Reviewed: Jan. 21, 2013
These little gems are terrific! Made them twice this weekend. My three grandsons went wild for them. The first time I used cheddar, and the second time used a Mexican blend. Both were equally good. Buttery, cheesy, garlicky, and easy. Had to use dried chives, but I'm sure fresh would be even better. Thanks, arich....a great contribution!!

Sage Pork Chops

Reviewed: Jan. 14, 2013
Wow.....can't believe I forgot to rate these! I've made them several times, and every time is a real winner. They're easy, and the result is a very tender chop with a tasty sauce. I do like to use more sage than called for, but we love the flavor of that herb. It's a real keeper...thanks!

Hamburger Steak with Onions and Gravy

Reviewed: Jan. 9, 2013
Very good. I didn't have beef broth in the pantry, so used Lipton beefy onion soup mix. I also let everything simmer about an hour. We both really liked this moist hamburger steak. The meat was perfectly seasoned for us. Great easy recipe. Thanks

Milk Chocolate Florentine Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 26, 2012
Well, my adult son has dubbed these his new favorite cookie. They're so pretty, too. I did use Ghiradelli semi-sweet chocolate instead of milk chocolate, but that was my only change. He even tried to steal them from my mother's tray! Definitely a keeper....little time-consuming, but worth it. Thanks

Feta Cheese Ball

Reviewed: Dec. 24, 2012
I just made this for snacks tonight. Wow! It's delicious, and I know it'll be even better after it melds for a while in the fridge. Very easy and yummy. Didn't make it into a ball or log, but will serve it in a little dish. I halved the recipe, and now wish I hadn't it's that good. Thanks for this one.

Spinach Quiche

Reviewed: Dec. 14, 2012
Well, I've been debating whether or not to review this, but decided to give it a go. I made this using completely different ingredients, but this review is to give thumbs up to the basic ingredients (eggs, cheese, cottage cheese). It turned out perfectly, and we both really enjoyed this quiche. No crust is a bonus for ease of prep, and we didn't even miss it. It's really a no-fail no matter what vegetable(s) and/or meat(s) you add to it. Thanks....this WILL be made again. Love it!

Big Soft Ginger Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 10, 2012
This is one yummy cookie! Hubby was in the mood for gingerbread, so I made these. I did use all butter...never have marjarine, and because I had only about 3/4 cup sugar, used dark brown sugar for the remaining 1/4 cup. After refrigerating the dough for about 45 minutes, they were easy to work with. I didn't roll them in sugar, and thought they were just sweet enough as is. I used my 1 tablespoon cookie scoop. They turned out chewy with a slightly crisp outer edge. Hubs can't stop eating them! I ended up with 28 cookies. These are going on my Christmas cookie trays for sure. Thanks for a great recipe.

Mediterranean Puff Pastry Chicken

Reviewed: Nov. 22, 2012
Pockets of deliciousness! The flavors of this were just wonderful together. As my husband was eating it and oooohing and aaaaahing, he asked me when I would make it again. I used one sheet of pastry rolled out a little, then cut in half. I had one humongous chicken breast, so cut it into bite-sized pieces and split it between the two halves of pastry. Didn't marinate the chicken, though. Otherwise, everything else the same as the recipe calls for. Chicken was cooked perfectly, and this is something we really enjoyed. Thanks for another keeper!!!

Taco Casserole

Reviewed: Nov. 15, 2012
This was okay, but probably not a recipe I'll make again. I believe it was the tomato soup that threw it off for us. And even with the taco seasoning in the meat mixture....still was missing something. Thanks for sharing the recipe, though.

BB's Chicken

Reviewed: Nov. 13, 2012
Not bad! I only used two chicken breasts but kept the sauce the same. Otherwise, followed the recipe exactly. The chicken was baked for 2 hours (I love dishes I can put in the oven and let it rip! ) and wasn't the least bit dry, and no knife needed. It cut with a fork. We did find it just a little salty, though. Next time I'll not salt the chicken, just use lemon pepper, and will dilute the soup just a bit...maybe add sour cream to it. Overall, a good recipe we both enjoyed.

Michell Jenny's Challah

Reviewed: Nov. 9, 2012
This recipe is perfection! Followed it exactly, but did add 3 teaspoons vital wheat gluten, which I do to all my bread. It was a beautiful loaf, very soft, and delicious. I think this is the best bread I've ever made. We both loved it. The dough was super easy to work with, and was just sweet enough for us. Great job on this recipe....thanks!

Best Easy Chicken Croquettes

Reviewed: Oct. 25, 2012
Here's the deal....we made a rotisserie chicken and had leftovers. Hubby was craving chicken croquettes, and we found this recipe. Sounded yummy to both of us. We decided to use cheddar cheese soup instead of cream of chicken. Hubs said....I wanna make 'em. Hey, go for it!! Well, he read the recipe, but not the instructions. He added the entire can of soup and the milk to the chicken mixture. Trying to salvage the "goop" he made, we refridgerated it for about an hour, shaped into large patties, breaded, and baked them in the oven. Despite not having any sauce to put over them, they were really delicious. I did carefully turn them once the bottoms were browned to get the other side crunchy. So....this is a VERY forgiving recipe, and really very good. Can't wait to make them the right way next time!!!

Easy Polenta with Tomato Sauce

Reviewed: Oct. 17, 2012
Delicious! Very easy to make, and this was actually my first time making polenta. I probably could have cooked it longer on the stove top, but despite it being just a little "runny" it was delicious. I added two chopped green onions while cooking the corn meal on the stove and a little salt and pepper. Should have cut the recipe in half for the two of us, but we'll enjoy it again today. This is a repeat for us. Thanks!

Slow Cooker Chicken and Dumplings

Reviewed: Oct. 14, 2012
This is really good and comforting. The second time I made it I added chunked celery and carrots, used two frozen chicken breasts, 1 can cream of celery in place of 2 cans cream of chicken, and added 32 ounces of chicken broth. Also just used one can of biscuits quartered. The biscuits cooked about 90 minutes in the crock and were perfect for us. A great, easy recipe~

Baked Spaghetti

Reviewed: Oct. 10, 2012
Very, very good and very, very easy. Used my own meat sauce, and because I was making it for a large crowd, used 1-1/2 pounds spaghetti and 3 pounds of ricotta. Perfecto!! I did mix the spaghetti with sauce rather than butter before putting it in my throw-away aluminum pan (used a pretty large one). It was a big hit, and what little leftovers we had were great heated up the next day. My Italian family loved it.

Antipasto Squares

Reviewed: Oct. 10, 2012
Everyone at my mother's birthday party LOVED these, and they disappeared FAST. I did prebake the bottom crust for 6 minutes, but would probably even go a little longer on that next time around. Also only used two eggs, and instead of brushing the top with egg, just sprinkled a good amount of parmesan before baking. This is a definite do again! Thanks for the recipe. I found it easiest to cut into squares using a pizza cutter, too. Otherwise, it was tough getting through the meats, especially the salami.

Clone of a Cinnabon

Reviewed: Sep. 30, 2012
Oh, my Lord, these are so, so good! The dough was so very easy to work with. It was a breeze. My grandsons and I put them together last night, popped in the fridge and baked off this morning. We baked at 375 degrees for 20 minutes, and they're perfection. Thanks so much for this wonderful recipe!!

Three Packet Slow Cooker Roast

Reviewed: Sep. 28, 2012
This was super delicious and way tender. I couldn't get it out of the crock pot in one piece! Wasn't sure about the 3-packet thing, but it works. The only thing I did differently, was salt and pepper the beef, added a thin layer of flour and seared well in a skillet before adding to the crock. Really terrific flavor. Thanks for this easy and delicious recipe.
