Sweet & Spicy St. Louis Ribs

Reviewed: Jul. 11, 2015
This was a very good recipe. I'm not a big rib eater, but did enjoy this one slathered with bbq sauce. I used baby back ribs from Smithfield, and they turned out very, very tender. My husband went crazy for them, and I liked that not too many ingredients were required. I wouldn't hesitate to serve these to company.

Cheese Tortellini Soup and Sausage

Reviewed: Feb. 24, 2015
My husband and I thought this was really very tasty and very satisfying on a cold winter night. Easy to make, too. The only change I'd make, and that's just because there are only two of us, is that I'd cook the tortellini separately and add it directly to the bowls. By the time I put the leftovers away, the remaining pasta had soaked up all of the broth. I used mild Italian sausage in this, and we both really enjoyed our dinner.

Honey Maid Holiday Cheesecake Presents

Reviewed: Jan. 1, 2015
This recipe needed a little extra "something". Maybe ground nuts and cinnamon in the crust. They were good and fun to decorate. I baked mine in a pan with nonstick foil overlapping the sides so I could just lift the whole thing out. Worked great. Had no trouble getting nice, clean cuts once these were refrigerated, then used my pizza cutter for the squares. Very neat edges. Took them to my sister's for Christmas, and they were well received.

No Knead Beer Bread

Reviewed: Nov. 9, 2014
Wow! Loved this bread! It's dense and so chewy inside with a wonderful crust outside. No knead? That's for me! Very, very easy recipe and turned out terrific. Last night I made grilled ham, cheese and green onion sandwiches with it and it took that simple sandwich over the top. Thanks for a great recipe!!

Potato, Bacon, and Corn Chowder

Reviewed: Nov. 9, 2014
Absolutely delicious! We both loved it. It was chunky with all the great fresh vegetables, and the creaminess of it was right on mark. All I did differently was to add a chopped onion. This is going to be great during fall and winter in this house! Thanks for an easy and great soup recipe.

Cranberry Orange Tea Bread

Reviewed: Nov. 9, 2014
A terrific bread with coffee or tea. It was moist, but held together well. Loved the cranberry in it, but the orange zest made it just a tad bitter to me. A little butter slathered on takes care of that. It was easy, fast, and really very good. Thanks, Motts!!

Slow Cooker Butternut Squash Soup with Sausage

Reviewed: Oct. 27, 2014
What a wonderful recipe! I use PAM all the time, but never thought to spray it inside my crock pot. Terrific idea that'll be repeated. This soup was good even a few days later. The squash held its shape but was soft as butter. What'd I do different? Just added an onion to the mix. Definitely a repeat in this house. Thanks!!

Unstuffed Cabbage Dinner

Reviewed: Oct. 27, 2014
Delicious! Comfort food at its best. Only one change made....I subbed Johnsonville Mild Italian Sausage for the ground beef. That seemed to really kick it up. My husband was going back for thirds until he realized he was full. I'll most definitely make this easy and wonderful dish again. Thanks for a great recipe!

Mini Rotini with Carrots and Peas

Reviewed: Jul. 29, 2014
Very good. We both enjoyed it. I caramelized the leeks just to add more flavor. There are only two of us, and because we love vegetables, I kept all the ingredients the same except halved the pasta. It was just right for us. I'll definitely be making this one again!

Elbows Mac and Cheese with Tuscan Herb Sauce

Reviewed: Jul. 29, 2014
We really enjoyed this dish. It was rich and creamy and yummy. The Tuscan Herb sauce is delicious, and the cheesy goodness just adds to it. The picture I took is before we dug into it just to show the wonderful cheese on top. So easy!

Grilled Salmon Greek Pitas

Reviewed: Jun. 25, 2014
Since I don't like salmon, I decided to use chicken for this dish. It worked! The sauce was very good with chicken. It was a very good summer meal that was so easy to prepare with virtually no clean up. A win-win.

Grilled Masala Chicken with Vegetables

Reviewed: Jun. 25, 2014
This was a very good and very easy dish. Clean up was a snap! Not too sure about the seasonings, so I'd give it a 3, but hubby liked it a lot, so a final 4 rating. A great way to cook chicken to keep it moist and tender.

Lemon Basil Grilled Chicken

Reviewed: Mar. 18, 2014
This was delicious! I marinated for about 3 hours and used thin-sliced chicken breasts and didn't have to pound them flat. The chicken was very well seasoned and moist. Loved the combination of lemon and basil. I did use my stove-top grill pan since we had a snow-covered deck. I'll definitely do this one in the summer.

Pork Carnitas with Cilantro Tomatillo Sauce

Reviewed: Mar. 17, 2014
Very, very good carnitas. No fresh tomatillos in the grocery store, so I subbed salsa verde. Used flour tortillas and had to omit cilantro because it tastes like soap to us. The pork was as tender as could be, the liquid reduced in the stated time, and we really enjoyed these. This will definitely be a do-over, but next time I may add just a little more heat to them. A truly easy and delicious dinner!

Allie's Awesome Easy Spice Cake

Reviewed: Mar. 16, 2014
This cake is wonderful! I used a 20-ounce can of apple pie filling, but ran my knife through the can several times to make smaller pieces. I sprayed and generously floured my bundt pan, and the cake released without a problem. It's very moist and simply delicious. I subbed pecans for walnuts, as I had them in the freezer. It's quick and easy to throw together, too. In my opinion, it was even better the next day. Thanks, Allie, for a keeper recipe!

Creamy Chocolate Frosting

Reviewed: Feb. 2, 2014
A great buttercream frosting. Very easy to pipe on my cupcakes. I made a double batch and frosted 18 cupcakes (I was generous with the frosting!). Gotta admit, this is my first time piping frosting, so I was leary, but nooooo problems. I'm going to keep this one for sure!

Thanksgiving Leftovers Casserole

Reviewed: Nov. 10, 2013
This was better than I thought it would be! A nice surprise. I did use mayo in mine...a personal preference. And I baked it at 350 for about an hour to try to get the cornbread Stove Top stuffing I used and the mashed potato/cheese topping a little "crunchy". Worked great. I had some leftover gravy, so poured a little of that over the top. It was in the oven within 15 minutes, so it's a really easy recipe to try after all those days before and during Thanksgiving spent in the kitchen. Very good!

Johnsonville® Italian Meatballs

Terrific meatballs! Very tender and flavorful. I served it with linguine and Alfredo sauce, and we truly enjoyed it. They were great right out of the oven, but combined with the sauce..wow. Thanks, Johnsonville! Again.
