I am a Designer by trade but a cook at heart. I'm taking college cooking courses to improve my skills and for fun.
My favorite things to cook
Love to cook foods with lots of flavour such as Thai and indian dishes. But also I love goold old fashioned comfort foods like chili and soups.
My cooking triumphs
I was able to replicate on my own some classic chinese dishes that my mother used to make such as some dim sum dishes and won ton soup.
My cooking tragedies
Often when I make fruit pies they come out runny. Still trying to rectify this.

Cocktail Meatballs
these were okay. the chili and cranberry sauce mixture is sort of odd. had a funny smell to it. they did taste pretty good though. next time i think i will make my own chili sauce instead of buying the bottled stuff to make the sauce taste less store-bought. didn't find the lemon added much. think i will add less cranberry sauce too. found it too sweet for my taste. but this recipe is a good base to start with.

Chicken and Spinach Alfredo Lasagna
this was very good. though i had to buy a lot ingredients for it and it took some time to prepare. to save a pot i cooked the onions and veg (used a red pepper instead of spinach) first then added all the ingredients for the cream sauce in the same pot. and instead of lasagna i used penne and just tossed everything together before i baked it. i would make this again but next time i think i will just use the cream sauce and chicken and veg without baking it and without the ricotta and mozerella. i felt the sauce was good enough on it's own and it would be fewer ingredients i would need to buy. also next time i will try using milk instead cream to save some calories.

Jam Filled Butter Cookies
yum. these were so good and really easy to make. i was in the mood to make cookies and had all the ingredients already so i gave this a try. i made them again a second time using margarine and they were not very good. i would definitely stick with butter.
