Honey-Ginger Grilled Salmon

Reviewed: Feb. 17, 2014
The only up side - The salmon came out super moist. I basically followed the recipe, only cutting back on the amount of soy sauce and using fresh garlic. Marinated it for over an hour, the taste just wasn't there. My kids love salmon, but only took half of their normal portion and struggled to finish even that. No sweet, salty or ginger flavor. In the end I had to add butter and salt for some flavor. We're quite disappointed.

E-Z Drop Biscuits

Reviewed: Feb. 4, 2013
These did not come out at all how I thought they would. Mine weren't light, fluffy or flaky, they were just masses of what tasted like unseason dumplings. It may have been because I used 1/4 c butter and the other 1/4 cup olive oil. I'm very disappointed, but over all it may have been my inability to make a good biscuit to save my life.

Classic Waffles

This is a pretty nice recipe. I am not overly excited about it and will be seeking another that will give me the lighter crispier texture that I am seeking.

Everyone, except one person at our sisters gathering loved these. I'm making them again, this recipe is a keeper.

Carrot Cake

Reviewed: Jul. 31, 2011
Turning out quite nice. I subbed in chuncky apple sauce for the pineapple. I think the topper is the frosting, without it the cake is very mild, not very sweet and doesn't taste much like carrot to me at all, but still good.

Ninety Minute Cinnamon Rolls

Reviewed: Jul. 15, 2011
We loved this recipe! Ramadan is coming up for the muslims and I plan to make this atleast twice in the next month for breakfast. The only things I would and did do differently were to use only 1/4 stick of butter. I baked mine on a cookie sheet (these were too large for muffine cups, even before baking) and add about 3 tbsps more white sugar so I can skip the frosting. Otherwise they were perfect.

Quick and Almost-Professional Buttercream Icing

For some reason my frosting didn't fluff up. I felt this recipe was average. I did half vanilla and half lemon.

Coconut Cake IV

Reviewed: Jun. 21, 2011
This recipe came out perfect. I didn't have any coconut extract so I used vanilla. The top finished sweet, crunchy and a bit chewy, like to sugar carmelized. So, good.

Fudge Brownies I

Reviewed: Apr. 5, 2011
I've used this recipe numerous times, it perfect for a number of reasons. Number one is because I'm lazy with weak flabby arms so, melting butter and mixing all of the ingredients in one pan kills two birds with one stone (no straining my lazy arms and only 1 dish to wash). The recipe is soo flexible I've even used hot chocolate when I didn't have bakers chocolate or coco around. This recipe always turns out great, chewy, fudgey and with a few more chocolate chips goes from regular to mega chocolate brownies without all the extra hassle and ingredients.

Baked Buffalo Wings

Reviewed: Apr. 5, 2011
These were very good, although I did have to go less on the spicyness for my kiddos. The only thing that truly annoyed me was the overwhelming buring smell from the butter! Next time I will place the chicken on the broiler pan that was provided and let the fast and excess butter drip down inside of burning on the pan.

Fluffy Pancakes

Reviewed: Mar. 6, 2011
These came out wonderful even though I botched them. I tried remembering the amounts of ingredients in my head (not one of my talents) by the time I made it to my kitchen neither I nor my 6 yr old remembered it right, I put too 2 tsp sugar, 2 tsp baking soda, 1 1/2 cups milk and just poured in some oil -may 1/4 cup. They still came out tasty, you reaaaally can't mess these up! Yummy!

Pecan Cranberry Muffins

Reviewed: Jan. 20, 2011
This recipe was just okay. It's not very sweet if that's what you're looking for -try a different recipe. I feel that the amount of milk that is called for is waaay off. I had to add about 3/4 c more and they were still dense. I did add cinnamon and vanilla so they taste a bit better. Over all this is a good basic recipe, but I'll be trying a new one in the future.

Marshmallow Treats

Reviewed: Dec. 30, 2010
The original recipe was good but, whoever suggested adding milk, bleech. Since I add a bit more marshmallow and cereal to the original they came out stiff. My niece suggested the milk to make them "creamy" (like another reviewer said). They came out loose and not very marshmallowy - infact, they won't really hold together. All I can say is I'm happy that these are being given to the 4 & 6 yr olds that made them.

Lemon Chewy Crisps

Reviewed: Oct. 14, 2009
Trying this recipe again after a year and living in a diff place. Recipe is really tasty, just not lemony enough. I adjusted the recipe by adding juice of 1 1/2 lemons, extra vanilla and sprinkled cinnamon & sugar over the top. Next time I will add 2 whole lemons...tasty

Cabbage Beef Soup

Reviewed: Nov. 17, 2006
This recipe was sooo good I couldn't wait for my husband to come home for dinner so I ate alone. Mind you i didn't follow the correct measurements - I just did it on my own and made some adjustments.I left out the cumin, added celery, green peppers and used crushed tomatoes instead (that's all I had on hand). I seasoned my ground beef with jerky seasoning, salt, black pepper, powdered garlic, Braggs* amino acids (like worchestershire sauce but, all natural no salt added) and chilli powder and garlic powder then let marinate for about 2-3 hours. I ate it with Kofta and naan, delicious. The only problem I had as delicious as it was, it didn't sit right on my tummy maybe 2 bowls was too many. I'm freezing the rest so I can eat it for dinner on those days I don't want to cook. This recipe is a def keeper!

Chalau

Reviewed: May 9, 2006
I can't remember if gave a review for this recipe. This is a wonderful recipe. The ingredients are staples in my home. The flavors are subtle. I used chicken for this recipe and cook it for the same amount of time. I eyeball the spices everything is in harmony with each other. I toss in fresh spinach but, frozen spinach goes over just fine too. *chomps licking good*

Snickerdoodle Cake II

Reviewed: Sep. 6, 2005
I tried this recipe this morning and it came out wonderful, especially the topping. I doubled the topping and added some cinnamon to the batter. The next time i make it i will add more sugar and triple the topping so i can swirl some through out the batter.

Easy Biscuits

Reviewed: Dec. 23, 2004
I really liked how this recipe turned out. I add sugar to the recipe (i like my biscuits sweet),the taste was so good, i'm going to continue to use this recipe. However, i didn't have the rising flour so i did what the other reviewers suggested and add baking soda and salt. But, they didn't get much larger than the size i cut out. This isn't the first time my biscuits haven't rose any hints/ tips as to why my biscuits are staying flat would be much appreciated.

Beat and Bake Orange Cake

Reviewed: Oct. 22, 2004
I wasn't too thrilled with this cake. I follwed all the direction but, the cake started to brown 20 mins after i had it in the oven but it's center remained jello like until the 35 mins were up. Maybe next time i will cook it on lower than 350. Dispite the outside being over cooked the inside did taste good.
