I always loved to bake but since my back surgeries, I just cant do like I use to. After gaining alot of weight and not being able to exercise, I was desperate to start cooking in a way that I could drop some pounds. Low carb worked best for me and has helped me to lose all my weight. Ive experimented with many traditional recipes by altering sugar and flour contents with stevia or brown sugar blends, and flour by using vegetable protein, ground flax, coconut flour and other options. My mainstays are, real butter, pure vanilla and free roaming eggs from my feathered girls. Being post menopausal with a slow metabolism, eating to lose has always been a challenge for me. I do have indulgences from time to time and when I do, I go all out. I really appreciate allrecipes and have found many great recipes here. I hope you enjoy this site as much as I do. Ive been pretty lucky with my cooking expeditions but I did make some of the sickest sugar free fudge last year. Im not sure what I did but it tasted so bad that I havent had the urge to experiment down that road again, probably could have used it as some kind of rodent or animal deterrent . I guess some recipes just cant be altered and still taste good.
