Juicy Butt Steaks
I was about to cook this when I realized that I am out of ketchup. I found a homemade ketchup recipe on line. Instead of making it separately then adding it to the meat, I will let it simmer with the meat. I'll be back to let you know how it turns out and update my rating. Addition to Review: 24 hours later. This recipe came out pretty good. I didn't double the recipe because I thought my husband would not really like it. I was hoping for leftovers. There were one. We ate it with a side of buttered egg noodles. Will definitely make again.

Dan's Old Fashioned White Bread
I was doubtful that this bread would turn out ok as I baked it and I was right. The teaspoon of yeast, I thought was not enough. However, I made the recipe as written assuming that sugar/honey would help the yeast to work better. It didn't. After 90 minutes into the second rise, the bread barely rose. At 2 hours, the bread reached the rim. It didn't have much oven spring. Also, it was too sweet for a white bread. It think this dough is better suited to cinnamon bread/rolls. I'm giving it 3 stars. However, I will try to make it again. Other factors may have been at play - mainly the cold weather. I will update the review then.

Grandma VanDoren's White Bread
I'm sure this recipe deserves more than 3 stars but the bread I made was just ok. I think my mistake was in using rapid rise yeast (dough cycle) instead of active dry which I didn't have. The Fleischmann's website said it could be used instead. The bread had a nice flavor, but didn't rise well. I will make this again this week and update my rating. With so many positive reviews, it has to be novice baker error. UPDATE: 2 WEEKS LATER - So I finally got over my failure with this recipe and decided to make it again. This time, I used SAF active dry yeast and King Arthur's bread flour. I knew this loaf would be different when the sponge doubled in less than 1 hour. The bread wasw absolutely delicious. My husband and I made turkey and provolone sandwiches with the warm bread. The texture was perfect. We just had the remaining half with scrambled eggs for breakfast. The entire loaf barely lasted 12 hours. Definitely five star.
