Never, Never Fail Pie Pastry

Reviewed: Oct. 8, 2005
Excellent recipe! The only change I made was that I substituted butter for the lard. It was so easy to roll out and it baked very nicely.

Strudel Dough

Reviewed: Feb. 25, 2005
hmm, pretty good. be sure to roll the dough out so its not thick at all. it can get pretty hard to eat if its thick. i filled my strudels with an apple sauce and sprinkled some sugar on top, it tasted pretty good. much more satisfying than to eat store-bought strudels as you can be actually aware of what you're eating. try using whole-wheat flour.

Vegan Peanut Butter Fudge

Reviewed: Dec. 13, 2004
blah.... i made this last night and here it being 8 o'clock in the morning, its a brown goo. i would not recomend this recipe as it is not very explanitory in when it is done, so it was very hard to tell. even besides that, it is awful.

Butterscotch Candy

Reviewed: Dec. 5, 2004
very good recipe. the only thing that went wrong for me is that i couldn't cut it very well. i ended up breaking it with my hands. odd shapes, but it still tasted wonderful.

Oven Roasted Potatoes

Reviewed: Jun. 18, 2005
i'd just like to suggest (for those of you who have had a problem with it cooking) that you bake for that time, and if it isn't browned yet, you turn the oven to broil. watch it CAREFULLY, making sure it doesn't burn but browns perfectly

Pear-a-dise Muffins

Reviewed: Aug. 21, 2007
Replaced pears with 2 cups blueberries--didn't use nutmeg or cinnamon. Added half a cup brown sugar and 1 tbsp vanilla to liquid mixture. Good!

Sticky Buns II

Reviewed: Apr. 14, 2006
Great!! I adore this recipe and will use it again. The only thing I think I'll do different is brush the dough with the butter and sprinkle on the sugar and cinnamon...it just seems easier!

Best Ever Muffins

Reviewed: Feb. 21, 2006
This is a really good recipe. Usually I will add chopped pear, cinnamon, and top with a brown sugar/oat/butter topping.

Brunch Scones

Reviewed: Jul. 13, 2005
This is the best scone recipe ever!! It bakes nicely (temp. was perfect for me), and it comes out delicious! I didn't use the currants, and I used soy milk instead of milk. All I had was salted butter in the house, so I used that...it worked, however, it must of slightly changed the taste.

Easy Vegan Peanut Butter Fudge

Reviewed: Dec. 5, 2004
this was okay. it did have a LOT of sugar so i limited it to 2 cups. that still was too much sugar for me, so next time i'll only use 1 1/2. does have a nice peanut butter-y taste though.

Cinnamon-Raisin Coffee Cake

Reviewed: Mar. 6, 2007
Tasty! I had a bit of trouble with the texture, it was a bit too soft, BUT that probably is my fault. I substituted applesauce for the eggs and I may have used too much. Anyhoo, it tastes good all the same. =)

Carmel's Stuffing

Reviewed: Oct. 8, 2005
good...it was a bit too buttery, though. next time i would use at the most 3/4 c. also, i baked it for about 20 min at 350 after i cooked it on the stovetop to make it a bit crispier.

Apple Crisp III

Reviewed: Apr. 6, 2005
people have been saying that this comes out watery. A simple solution---don't use water! crisp is a very easy dessert to play around with and in my past experience with it is that the base can be a simple mix of apples and cinnamon. Beleive me, I am positive that omitting the water completely will still give you a great dessert.

Cream Cheese Coffee Cake I

Reviewed: Jan. 25, 2008
This rises high and gets very fluffy. It's also very yummy but isn't as sweet as I thought it'd be. I used dried cranberries instead of the raisens, and chocolate chips as well.

Chocolate Cheesecake IV

Reviewed: Dec. 16, 2006
This is the first time that I have made cheesecake. It is easy to make and quite rich. I followed only the directions on this recipe, however next time I'll use the cheesecake articles on this site to avoid the crackling on top and overcooking it. Great recipe!

Couldn't be Simpler Bars

Reviewed: Oct. 24, 2006
These are pretty good. The worked out well, and I baked them for just over 15 minutes. They will crumble when hot--but put them in the fridge for a bit and they should harden up. Great, quick recipe.

Tortillas II

Reviewed: May 25, 2006
This was my first attempt at making tortillas. The only hard part was rolling that very small amount of dough into 7 inch circles. However,it didn't stick to the counter at all! I ended up making only 8, the result being very chewy, with a good taste. I may make them again.
