Jamie's Minestrone

Reviewed: Nov. 4, 2011
This soup is SOOO good! A great way to get the kids to eat a variety of veggies! I made a few changes to suit my family's taste... I omitted the red wine (but I'm sure it's really good with, I was just worried the kids wouldn't like it) I omitted the pasta I omitted the parmesan cheese I used 1/2 large vidalia onion instead of 2 whole onions I added vegetable stock instead of chicken stock I added 1 idaho potato ( I peeled, cubed and boiled it to texture I like and added it after the soup was done cooking) I also added peas and corn, about 3/4 to 1 cup of each The only other thing I did different was I waited until the last 5 minutes of cooking to add the zucchini so it didn't get mushy, it was perfection! I cold eat this soup every day of the week!

Movie Star Popcorn

Reviewed: Jul. 22, 2011
This was SO good! I used smart oil instead of peanut oil since my son has a peanut allergy and it was delicious! Reminds me of the popcorn we ate as kids since my dad always made popcorn this way. So much better than microwave popcorn!

Taco Seasoning I

Reviewed: Jul. 22, 2011
Excellent taco seasoning! I started searching for a taco seasoning recipe when I realized the packets contain MSG. I will never buy another packet again, this is the best! The only thing I omit is the red pepper flakes since we have small children. I make a double batch of this and keep in in an airtight container so I always have it on hand. Thank you for sharing this great recipe!

Amazing Chicken

Reviewed: Jul. 22, 2011
Very good easy meal! My boys age 3 and 5 love it and so does my husband. This is a great go-to dinner when I need to throw something together quickly with ingredients I have on hand. I use hellmans light mayo and I have also used light sour cream when I didn't have mayo on hand. The only thing I add is a few small bits of butter on top because we like the extra flavor and crispness it adds. It turns out great every time! Thank you for sharing!

Key Lime Pie VII

Reviewed: Jun. 8, 2010
The absolute BEST key lime pie!!! This tastes exactly like the key lime pie I have always bought at the market. Search no further, this IS the perfect recipe, and so quick and easy to make. I even tried is using low fat sweetened condensed milk and reduced fat sour cream with the same results. Thank you for sharing this recipe, everyone I make it for raves about it!

Apple Spice Snack Cake

Reviewed: Jun. 8, 2010
Yum, very moist and delicious. Everyone loved it! I wish the apples didn't get so ground up, you couldn't even see them in the cake. Next time I will chop them up and then stir them in after beating the batter.

Cake with Buttercream Decorating Frosting

Reviewed: Jun. 8, 2010
Great frosting! I am not a big fan of frosting. I usually scrape it off when I eat cake, but this actually tastes good! I used this frosting to decorate my son's birthday cake, was great for piping decoration. Makes a ton so I made 2/3 of the recipe to decorate a 9 x 13 cake and still had a bunch left.

Pretty Chicken Marinade

Reviewed: Apr. 26, 2010
LOVE this marinade, it is the absolute best! I add about 2 Tbsp worcestershire, about 2 Tbsp honey and some onion powder. I have used honey mustard when I didn't have spicy brown mustard with the same results. Look no further, this is the BEST marinade!

Colleen's Slow Cooker Jambalaya

Reviewed: Apr. 21, 2010
This is a good starter recipe but needs work on the seasonings. I didn't add the cayenne pepper until after so I could adjust the heat for my family. It's pretty bland, cayenne pepper adds heat, not flavor ... added extra cajun seasoning (I used Emerils) and then added some Old Bay seasoning as well. I would give it 4 stars with those adjustments. It still doesn't have that authentic jambalaya taste you get at cajun restaurants.

Sugar Cookie Cutouts

Reviewed: Apr. 6, 2010
These are the absolute best cutouts EVER!!! They are so moist and soft, they melt in your mouth. The texture reminds me of the Lofthouse sugar cookies. I added 2 tsp vanilla as others suggested and also 1/2 tsp salt. They turn out perfect every time. I have even made them after chilling in the fridge for only one hour. Thank you for sharing this great recipe!!!

Soft Christmas Cookies

Reviewed: Feb. 23, 2009
Excellent sugar cookie! I made Valentine cookies for work and everyone raved about them! Perfect soft chewy cookie. A couple small changes...I too used butter instead of margarine as others suggested, and cooked them at 350 for 10-12 minutes.

Sugar Cookie Frosting

Reviewed: Feb. 23, 2009
Very good tasting frosting, nice and creamy and my friends all loved the cookies (used the Soft Chrismas Cookies recipe from this site - wonderful cookie!) I just wasn't too happy with the way the frosting looked on the cookies, not real smooth like I like for sugar cookies, had to add some colored sugar sprinkles on top. I'm still looking for the perfect frosting...

Fettuccini Tomato Rustica II

Reviewed: Feb. 23, 2009
Delicious!!! My whole family loved this, even my 3 year old son! It tastes a lot like Penne Mediterranean from Bravo! I added some sauteed spinach and pine nuts to make it taste much like that dish. I also made a few changes... I used whole wheat penne pasta instead of fettuccini, and I added a few drops of olive oil to the boiling water to keep the noodles from sticking together. I did not add the one cup of olive oil as others suggested, but added the oil from the sun-dried tomatoes instead. I used light ricotta cheese. I will definitely be making this again and again!

Sour Cream Pork Chops

Reviewed: Mar. 8, 2008
YUMMMM! I am not a fan of pork chops, but this is delicious! The pork chops are so tender and fall apart. The gravy is so good over rice or mashed potatoes. I did have to add about 1/3 cup flour, 2 tbsp was not enough to make it thick. My husband raved about this. Can't wait to make it again!

Banana Pudding IV

YUM, perfection! This is the best recipe for banana pudding. Only change I made is used almost a whole box of wafers. I brought this to work and everyone wanted the recipe! I crushed some wafers and sprinkled them over the top, looks beautiful and tastes delicious!
