My husband and I on a camp trip.
About this Cook
I'm a Mom and work full-time, so dinners on weekdays are fast n easy, but on weekends I love to make dinners that take a little longer, provided I have the time.
My favorite things to cook
Everything! I love seafood, especially shellfish, and grilling. I'm pretty good at stir-fry and am always looking for a new recipe that my son will love. Soups are a weekly menu item in the winter along with stews.
My favorite family cooking traditions
I'm getting back to my German roots and am trying out recipes like Lentil Soup, Rouladen, and Spaetlze. Anyone ever try Steak Tartar? Awesome! A family favorite when I was growing up is Palatsinka (sp?), a crepe stuffed with a cottage cheese and sugar filling and cooked with halfnhalf - then served with sugar and applesause - this was a treat when I was a kid.
My cooking triumphs
A crown roast I cooked for Christmas one year. It was soooo good. Also, a Capon I made for Easter - that was good, too. Then, there was that time I made cornbread in an outdoor Dutch Oven with charcoal briquettes when we were camping with the Boy Scouts - they turned out great!
My cooking tragedies
Baking chicken breasts in the oven - too dry and tasteless.

Zesty Porcupine Meatballs
Yummy - liked using the instant rice too.

Key West Chicken
This was an excellent recipe. Marinating the chicken all day is what makes this dish moist and flavorful. Will definitely make this again and again.

Linguine with Peppers and Sausage
This dish was soooo good. I followed the recipe but added some baby zuchinni I had from the garden. Everyone loved it! Thanks for an awesome recipe.
