Because I am located in NYC, restaurants are plentiful and there are many types of cuisines to choose from. I have recently had the best Thai food I think there is in NYC and I wish I could say I have not become addicted but I can't help it. Pad Sea Ew with pork is so good! For those of you who don't know what that is, it consists of flat noodles that are drenched in a sweet brown sauce and some sauteed pork is thrown into the mix with Chinese broccoli. The restaurant that I tried out with Jose tops this with cassava that has been thinly sliced with a mandolin and crisped up. Once you have this dish, you'll be in love, TRUST ME!

So I am interested in hearing about some cuisines that you guys think I should try. I will try ANYTHING! And I'm sure NYC has it SOMEWHERE.

So far I have tried:

Mexican
Italian
German
Southern
Chinese
Thai
Japanese

Any suggestions?

Also if you have any ideas about any Polynesian dishes, I'd love to hear about them, that is definitely next on my list to try.

Head on out to Brighton Beach and feast on Russian cuisine there are also some interesting Arabic places in Brooklyn around Atlantic Ave and Flatbush. And there used to be an Argentinian steak house on Fordham Road that was amazing.

About Me
I love food! But I think that will become pretty obvious to many of you. I'll try almost ANY recipe and will most likely modify it according to my palate as I go. Eating is an adventure and I crave new experiences.
My favorite things to cook
Italian has become the "go to" food for me. I believe it is the easiest and very yummy. But... I am gonna have to go with Indian cuisine. The different levels of flavors within this type of cuisine is extraordinary. I hope to be able to cook Indian food at home and have it taste as good as the local spots.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Thanksgiving. I love ALL of the things that be brought to the table. I transitioned from a traditional turkey to a honey glazed Virginia ham and I have never gone back. I am trying to have a thanksgiving pot luck at my new apartment so that we can all enjoy different styles of food.
My cooking triumphs
I roasted a whole chicken! AND DIDN'T UNDER/OVER COOK IT. Every new creation in the kitchen is a triumph for me.
My cooking tragedies
I over cooked some pork chops because I got caught up on an episode of Pioneer Woman. It was disastrous. Good thing we keep the take out pile nearby and ready.
