I have decided to attempt an Italian dessert. I have been obsessed with the film Julie & Julia, so much so that I have purchased the movie, the book and Julia Child's memoir My Life in France. I am in the process of ordering Mastering the Art of French Cooking and have been convinced into making an Italian dessert. I have been recommended a few recipes but would like to narrow it down to one. I have made it my mission to give the one I choose an interesting twist so that I can add it to my repertoire of great desserts.

Here are the options:

1) Twinkie Tiramisu
2) Chocolate Cream Cake
3) Cannoli Dip

Join me on this sweet mission and let me know which would you choose.

Definitely Twinkie Tirimisu... I think... I wonder what twist you'll add to that? O_o

Somehow I just can't imagine Julia endorsing Twinkies for a tirmasu. I would go with the cream cake.

Thanks for the advice, guys! I have decided to do both the Chocolate Cream Cake and the Twinkie Tiramisu. The cake because my family has been begging me for that and the Tiramisu because co workers and friends want have been asking me to try it and let them taste! So I will update you guys on how that turns out. Wish me luck!

Chocolate Cream cake was a success!!! I followed the recipe except for the adding of the nuts inside the batter. I figured it would be TOO much pecan and I was right. The amount I chose was perfect. On to my attempt at Twinkie Tiramisu with a small twist to make it my own. :-) I will be posting a pic of my cake on the recipe "Italian Chocolate Cream cake" if you are interested in seeing the end result.

About Me
I love food! But I think that will become pretty obvious to many of you. I'll try almost ANY recipe and will most likely modify it according to my palate as I go. Eating is an adventure and I crave new experiences.
My favorite things to cook
Italian has become the "go to" food for me. I believe it is the easiest and very yummy. But... I am gonna have to go with Indian cuisine. The different levels of flavors within this type of cuisine is extraordinary. I hope to be able to cook Indian food at home and have it taste as good as the local spots.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Thanksgiving. I love ALL of the things that be brought to the table. I transitioned from a traditional turkey to a honey glazed Virginia ham and I have never gone back. I am trying to have a thanksgiving pot luck at my new apartment so that we can all enjoy different styles of food.
My cooking triumphs
I roasted a whole chicken! AND DIDN'T UNDER/OVER COOK IT. Every new creation in the kitchen is a triumph for me.
My cooking tragedies
I over cooked some pork chops because I got caught up on an episode of Pioneer Woman. It was disastrous. Good thing we keep the take out pile nearby and ready.
