Cravings! Cravings! Cravings! I can't have salty without sweet, soft without crunchy, and everything in between. I've been wanting to make a brunch sandwich with different components to satisfy my palate.

How about a grilled cheese sandwich with just a little mayonnaise on the inside and instead of just plain ol' American cheese, a nice thick slice of sharp cheddar cheese which will be melted when the sandwich is placed on the griddle. But that's not all, of course. I like bacon with almost anything and bacon in a grilled cheese sandwich is heavenly. Candy the bacon! Brush it with some maple syrup after it has crisped up. Once the the bacon is glazed add it to your sandwich, cook on a griddle and enjoy!

Maybe for an adventurous twist, add some cayenne for some kick to your mayonnaise.

abby, do you have any pepper jelly? smear that on the inside of a grilled cheese. you will not be sorry....sooooo good.....

Grilled cheese with tomato & bacon and then dipped into a spicy chipotle kethup. Now we are talking....

i love grilled cheese with bacon and tomato. But as much as I love bacon, I just can't get behind the candied bacon idea. :) But sharp cheddar cheese, a ripe tomato, and some good bacon grilled inside whole grain bread...yum!

I love pressed sandwiches like panini, grilled or toasted. Try dijonnaise and havarti with slices of fresh pear on a hearty honey-wheat bread. Another favorite is pesto with fresh mozzarella, roasted red peppers or provolone with fresh baby spinach and sun-dried tomatoes. I just use a heavy press and my non-stick pan. Yum!

About Me
I love food! But I think that will become pretty obvious to many of you. I'll try almost ANY recipe and will most likely modify it according to my palate as I go. Eating is an adventure and I crave new experiences.
My favorite things to cook
Italian has become the "go to" food for me. I believe it is the easiest and very yummy. But... I am gonna have to go with Indian cuisine. The different levels of flavors within this type of cuisine is extraordinary. I hope to be able to cook Indian food at home and have it taste as good as the local spots.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Thanksgiving. I love ALL of the things that be brought to the table. I transitioned from a traditional turkey to a honey glazed Virginia ham and I have never gone back. I am trying to have a thanksgiving pot luck at my new apartment so that we can all enjoy different styles of food.
My cooking triumphs
I roasted a whole chicken! AND DIDN'T UNDER/OVER COOK IT. Every new creation in the kitchen is a triumph for me.
My cooking tragedies
I over cooked some pork chops because I got caught up on an episode of Pioneer Woman. It was disastrous. Good thing we keep the take out pile nearby and ready.
