Homemade Flour Tortillas

This recipe is closest to what I used for over 50 years. I learned it from an old mexican lady. She and I used crisco instead of lard, and worked the crisco in a little at a time as the dough was kneaded after all the other ingredients were mixed together, including the water. These were served with an authentic homemade mexican pork chili. As my family grew so did the recipes. It took all day to make and serve a mexican meal. I love this recipe. It is perfect for a few people. Much better than any store bought..

Italian Anisette Cookies

This recipe is very close to the one I have. The important ingredients are about the same. One recommendation I would make is not to add additional flour. I knead my dough and it is very sticky. But if you then let the batter rest with out adding flour for 15 min to hr. it will roll nicely and be less apt to become hard.
