Easy Caramelized Onion Pork Chops

Reviewed: Jul. 18, 2008
This recipe gave me a good start for something new with pork chops. Here are the changes I made: I used pork loin chops, sprinkled them on both sides with salt, pepper, sweet paprika and cajun seasoning. I browned them on both sides in olive oil removed them from the pan, added a little more oil and added the onions. I sprinkled a little sugar over the onions and covered them to simmer for about 5 minutes. I uncovered them and continued cooking them until they turned a beautiful brown. Add the meat back in and cover with 2 cups of chicken broth and simmer for about 20-30 minutes. Right before I was ready to serve them, I removed the meat and onions, made a gravy with the liquid, put the meat and onion back in and after it all thickened up, I served it over white rice. YUM, YUM, YUM!!! Thanks for the recipe.

It's Chili by George!!

Reviewed: Dec. 25, 2006
This was my first time making homemade chili and from the rating of my family, it gets 5 stars! I didn't have tomato juice, so I substituted three 11 ounce cans of V8 and omitted the cayenne, because I also didn't have any. It was still awesome. My son ate it with Frito's Scoops and I am making a pan of cornbread to eat it with dinner. Thanks for a simple and delicious recipe!!

Banana Cake X

Reviewed: Oct. 7, 2006
Fabulous recipe!!! I didn't have a box of butter cake mix, so I used a yellow cake mix. It was great!! I used one of the suggestions to serve with a cream cheese frosting, so I found one on Allrecipes and it was very good. I used a bundt pan and had to cook it about 20 minutes longer. This one is a keeper.

Basmati rice has been a staple in our house for many years, annd I have been making fried corn for a while, so when I saw this recipe, I had to try it. It was great. It goes great with grilled chicken and steamed veggies. I will be making this again!

Chicken Fried Chicken

Reviewed: Sep. 3, 2006
My 13 year old son prepared this dish tonight and it was awesome!!! All 3 of us gave it 5 stars!! I made gravy with a package of brown gravy mix, a package of turkey gravy mix, 2 cups of water and added it to the drippings. Served that over white rice with a vegetable medley on the side and this was a great supper. We will definitely be making this again!!!

Seashell Supper

Reviewed: Jul. 11, 2006
I wasn't that impressed with this recipe. Reading the other reviews had me hoping for something wonderful, but it was just OK. My husband (who will eat pretty much anything) was not blown away with it. And I had LOTS of it left over.

Greek Penne and Chicken

Reviewed: Jun. 14, 2006
FABULOUS RECIPE!!!! Followed a few of the suggestions of the others: I added a 1/4 cup of heavy whipping cream to make the dish a bit more saucier. I didn't have fresh parsley so I used about 4 tablespoons of dried. The combinations of the flavors are wonderful in this dish. Thanks for a great recipe!! Will definitely make this again.

Fiery Fish Tacos with Crunchy Corn Salsa

Reviewed: May 28, 2006
Fabulous recipe!! I am not a fan of cilantro (smells like dish soap to me!) but the salsa is great with the fish. My husband, sister-in-law and brother-in-law, who are Mexican loved the flavor of the fish and the salsa. I used Red Snapper and Cod and Red Snapper was out favorite. Next time I will try Halibut. Thanks for the recipe.

Split Pea and Ham Soup I

Reviewed: Nov. 13, 2005
Great recipe with lots of flavor. I used 2 cans of vegetable broth and water to completely cover the peas. I added honey baked ham cut into cubes and they were delicious. I cooked it in the crockpot with the temp set on HIGH and it took about 4 hours for the peas to fully disentegrate. I did need to keep adding water as the liquid cooked down. My husband added tabasco and loved the taste and went back for more. Thanks Sue for sharing!!
