Fresh Apple Cake I

Reviewed: Jan. 10, 2015
Excellent apple cake. I forgot to peel the apples but I don't think it mattered too much. I had honey crisps in the house and used them. Because they are not quite as moist I added 1/2 cup plain yogurt. It was the perfect texture. I believe you could add raisins as well. The walnuts are a must. It wouldn't taste the same without them. Cooked in 45 minutes exactly. This is a not too sweet light cake. Perfect with hot tea on a cold night

Cornish Game Hens with Garlic and Rosemary

Reviewed: Dec. 8, 2014
This was fantastic! I followed this recipe as close as I could for what I had in the house. I made 2 hens but left the sauce the same. I didn't have fresh lemon so I poured a little juice in the cavity. I only had dried rosemary. I put 1 garlic clove in each cavity. The hen was moist and flavorful. When I made the gravy I pressed the cloves and added corn starch to thicken it. The gravy was delicious! We poured it over the hens and over mashed potatoes. Will definitely make this again

Raspberry White Chocolate Buttercream Cupcakes

Reviewed: Nov. 16, 2014
I made these cupcakes and the icing for my daughter's first birthday. The guests were all family, including my baking critic Aunt. My Aunt and Grandmother owned a bakery in NYC for over 20 years. These were at hit. I followed the recipe exactly, except I strained the seeds from my raspberry filing and I used heavy whipping cream in place of milk for the frosting. I piped the frosting onto the cupcakes and used the leftover frosting for my daughter's smash cake. Amazing! I used an apple corer to cut out the cupcake center which worked perfectly. The filing set up perfect. It stayed in place, no sinking. These were really lovely to serve and impressed my family.

Wow! Couldn't be any easier! Make as written and served with baked sweet potato fries. We like it rare so 2 minutes per side was perfect for our sushi grade tuna. Yum!

Fluffy Peanut Butter Frosting

Reviewed: Aug. 4, 2014
Made as written to go on banana cake cupcakes. This was delicious and spreadable. I don't know why other raters had so much trouble. I piped this onto the banana cake cupcakes with a chocolate fudge swirl. Amazing!

Mari's Banana Cupcakes

Reviewed: Aug. 4, 2014
I made these as written but doubled the recipe to make more. Doubled I got 36 full size cupcakes. They are moist and light like a cake. Mine did not fall. I was looking for a banana cake cupcake similar to the double banana cake recipe from bon appetite and this was great. I'm frosting them with a peanut and chocolate frosting both from this website. Thanks for a great and easy recipe

Fantastic! This is our favorite way to make brussel sprouts. We were keen on the roasted balsamic sprouts, but these are better.

Lemon Pudding Cookies

Reviewed: Jun. 1, 2014
These are great cookies. Super quick. followed the directions, doubling everything. I also added 2 tbl lemon juice and 1/2 tsp lemon zest. They didn't need it, I had some lemons that needed to be used. I made the sugar topping stated in the recipe, as well as some with a lemon butter frosting, also on this site. We preferred the frosted ones. The frosting really made these pop.

Fantastic. We loved it. Cooked exactly as written, minus the miso, as I didn't have any. This will definitely be a go to for salmon.
