Apple Dumplings with Rich Cinnamon Sauce

Reviewed: Jan. 23, 2009
Wow! Easy & delicious. Have made this with many different types of apples & tart apples work best with the sweetness of the sauce. Give this a try, you won't be disappointed!

Pancit

Reviewed: Jan. 23, 2009
Loved this recipe! Didn't use shrimp but ahve made this with pork & chicken. Both very good. Have made it with rice noodles & actual pancit noodles. Good both ways. Very simple dish. I hae had pancit many times made by phillipino friends & this is pretty close. I do add a little bit of fish sauce for a more authentic flavor. This gets made frequently at our house.

New Potatoes with Caper Sauce

Reviewed: Jan. 23, 2009
Overall good dish, but almost an overwhelming amount of sauce. Next time I will decrease the amount of sauce or increase the amt. of potatoes. My husband loved it!

Turkey Pot Pie

Reviewed: Jan. 23, 2009
My husband & 14 year old son go crazy for t his recipe! I'm lucky to get a full serving! Have made this a few times. I freeze leftover turkey, 2 cups per bag, just for this recipe. We do like a little more saue so I add either some turkey gravy or a bit of cream of chicken soup & a touch of poultry seasoning. Pre-baking the bottom crust for 5 minutes or so is also something I recommend. Ultimate comfort food.

Very tasty dish & so easy to make it your own! Made the recipe as printed the first time & we really loved it. Very fresh flavors. We have also tried it with italian turkey sausage added & with cannelini beans added. A new favorite at our house!

Classic Thanksgiving Dressing With Parsley, Sage and Thyme

Reviewed: Dec. 1, 2008
Had excellent flavor. Loved the french bread! A little too dry for us, had to add quite a bit more broth, also added a bit more sage. Will make again with these changes.

Brandied Candied Sweet Potatoes

Reviewed: Dec. 1, 2008
My husband couldn't stop raving about these sweet potatoes. I thought the alcohol taste was a little overwhelming & I would suggest reducing the sauce down to be more like a glaze before adding the potatoes. Very easy. Will continue to make it for husband but will try cutting back on the brandy next time.

Holiday Cranberry Sauce

Reviewed: Dec. 1, 2008
This is amazing! My husbands told me to make sure & buy him a can of the jellied stuff because he hates real cranberry sauce. He is STILL raving about it. I caught him using on toast this morning like jam. The spice mix is key. It imparts a unique flavor to the sauce unlike any other I have had. I will be making this every thanksgiving! Thanks for the EASY & DELICIOUS recipe!

My husband (the fish hater) couldn't stop eating this tilapia! I can finally enjoy fish without having to cook two separate dinners! I ate the leftover salsa with tortilla chips.

Pear Pie III

Reviewed: Oct. 3, 2008
This was delicious! I sliced up 4 very ripe Bartlett pears & used 1/2 the amount of sugar. My husband & I ate half of this pie the first night! The custard with the delicate pears was a beautiful combination. I will make this anytime I have a few ripe pears that need to be used up.

Best Peanut Butter Cookies Ever

I was a skeptic... but these are truly delicious cookies! I used a whole 18oz. jar of reduced fat jif. They turned out perfect...crispy at the edges & chewy in the middle.

Asian-Glazed 'Melt-in-Your-Mouth' Pork Tenderloin

Reviewed: Sep. 24, 2008
Amazing! We will never make a tenderloin any other way after trying this recipe. Brining is the way to go! The glaze was a little sweet for my taste but my husband loved it!

Jenn's Out Of This World Spaghetti and Meatballs

Reviewed: Sep. 24, 2008
Made this for my husband last night and it was delicious! I don't usually rate a recipe unless I make it as written, but a did make a few small changes based on reviews of others. I only added 2 Tbs of sugar & that was plenty. Also added extra garlic and 1/2 cup red wine. The meatballs were heavenly! Fresh herbs are a must for this recipe!

Seafood Fettuccine

Reviewed: Mar. 16, 2008
Better than I've had at restruants! I used heavy cream because I had some. I cut the pasta & seafood amounts in half, but left the sauce the same. I increased the amount of garlic and added fresh seeded, diced tomatoes at the end. This is an amazing dish, not for the calorie conscious, but well worth the splurge!

Easy Pork Roast

Reviewed: Mar. 11, 2008
Delicious! I used a very lean pork roast and the meat just fell apart. Served it in bowls and it was kind of like a stew with the beans. Will make again!

Fideo (Mexican Spaghetti)

Reviewed: Jan. 13, 2008
I'll admit I was skeptical, but this is very good! As suggested by others, I used canned Rotel instead of fresh tomatoes and chicken broth instead of water. I also diced my chicken breast and then sauted with onion & garlic. I also added 1-2 tbsp of tomato paste for flavor & had to cook it a bit longer than stated. Will definately make this again!

Winter Fruit Salad with Lemon Poppyseed Dressing

Reviewed: Nov. 28, 2007
Excellent salad. Tastes like my favorite resturant salad! Husband asked for seconds! I did make a change. I used some blue cheese crumbles instead of swiss. We just like the blue cheese in fruited salads. The dressing is awesome! Thanks for the great salad!

Beef Potpie

Reviewed: Oct. 2, 2007
I doubled this recipe and instead of using the broth/flour mixture, used the leftover roast beef gravy. I also added a can of diced potatoes. Awesome way to use those leftovers! Now I buy a bigger roast, just to make sure I have enough for this recipe!
