Potato Spinach Casserole

Reviewed: Oct. 20, 2004
This was absolutely delicious! I used fresh, chopped spinach & added some garlic. Didn't have green onions so I used regular chopped onlion. I also added a little half & half to potatoes while mashing. I combined everything ahead of time, refridgerated, then put in casserole dish & baked during the last half of my stuffed chicken/spinach recipe. Great combination & just as good leftover!

Slow Cooker Casserole

Reviewed: Nov. 22, 2004
This was absolutely delicious. The chicken was so-o-o-o tender. I cut the recipe in half - except I did use 2 cans of the cream of chicken soup, 2 pkgs. ramen noodles & only 1 packet of the ramen seasoning. I placed the chicken breasts (whole) on top & cut up in pieces before the last hour of cooking. Will definitely make again!

Grandma B's Bean Soup

Reviewed: Oct. 29, 2004
Fantastic! This was the first time I made ham & bean soup - was a little hesitant at first by the looks of it but it turned out great & my boyfriend loved it too. I used great northern beans, eliminated the carrots & cut up everything the night before (except for potatoes) & put it all in my slow cooker in the morning (except for potatoes)with 7 cups water. I added 2 bay leaves & salt/pepper. At noon I cut up (3) potatoes, boiled for about 5 minutes then added to soup. I kept it on high all day & turned down to low the last couple hours. I will definitely make this again!

Baked Cream Cheese Appetizer

Reviewed: May 31, 2005
Very easy to make & delicious. As suggested by other reviews, I spiced it up a little by adding chives & garlic powder. Took to a party this weekend & everyone asked for the recipe.

Pistachio Fluff Fruit Salad

Reviewed: May 31, 2005
Very good & easy to make. I omitted the banana's because they turn brown.

Cheese Squares

Reviewed: Oct. 27, 2004
Very easy to make & tasted great. Since I don't care for swiss cheese I used a shredded 4-cheese combination. I wouldn't call it cheese "squares" however - when I cut it in squares & removed from dish it was more like a casserole.

Hot Spiked Cider

Reviewed: Apr. 22, 2005
I'm not a big fan of apple cider but I love this recipe. Great combination of flavors & a nice warm drink for sitting outside by a fire. I have doubled the recipe for parties or to take to outdoor events to share. Everyone loved it.

Orange Cream Fruit Salad

Reviewed: Apr. 22, 2005
I will make this again, however, I will substitue the sour cream with cool whip for a sweeter, creamier flavor. Didn't care for the sour cream & omitted the apples.

Slow Cooker Chicken Parisienne

Reviewed: Nov. 3, 2004
The chicken was very moist, however we didn't care for the flavor of the sauce. I think it was the white wine that overpowered it (will omit the wine if I make it again). I used golden mushroom soup instead of cream of mushroom & used fresh mushrooms.

Beef Florentine

Reviewed: Nov. 2, 2004
This was pretty good - even though I had to change a few things (from suggestions & lack of ingredients). I forgot I had no cottage cheese so I added 2 beaten eggs & shredded mozerrella to the spinach mixture & used provolone cheese on top. I know it would've been better with cottage or ricotta cheese. I used a large can of tomato sauce (29 oz) & omitted the water, as suggested by another review. I noticed the recipe did not say where or when to add the garlic?? Also, 2 cups of noodles - is that cooked or uncooked - half of a 16oz. bag?

Spinach Stuffed Chicken Breast

Reviewed: Oct. 20, 2004
Loved it! Wonderful combination of flavors. I could not find pepperjack cheese so I used a cheddar/colby mix & it tasted great. Will definitely make again!

I thought this was good (& easy) but it could use some added hot sauce.

Death By Chocolate III

Reviewed: Oct. 15, 2004
I've made this a little differently. Add 1 small cool whip to the chocolate pudding mix. Also used a small bag of Heath Bar "Bits of Brickle" instead of the english toffee bars. You can also substitute the pudding mix with 3 boxes of chocolate mousse for a little thicker consistency & flavor. If using the mousse, do not add the small cool whip to it. This has been a favorite at all events but is a dessert that requires lots of mouths.

Pork Chops for the Slow Cooker

Reviewed: Apr. 27, 2005
This was great! I used boneless pork loin medallions. They were extremely tender & we loved the flavor. I was leary at first, the combination sounded odd but proved to be wonderful. The only thing I did different was cook them on high for 3 hours, then low for an additonal 3 hours. This is a definite keeper!

Deb's Scallops Florentine

Reviewed: Apr. 22, 2005
This is an impressive dish & we enjoyed the flavor however, it is a bit rich. I didn't boil the scallops as suggested by other reviews & it turned out great.

Slow Cooker Chicken Taco Soup

Reviewed: Apr. 22, 2005
This was great! I substitued the beer with chicken broth, as suggested by other reviewers. For anyone who has had Hacienda Mexican Restaurants' Chicken Fajita Chili, this is very similar. We ate our first bowl with a dollop of sour cream & the 2nd bowl without. Liked it better without. I also put crushed tortilla chips in mine. Will definitely make this again - only next time will DOUBLE the recipe so we have enough leftovers!

Hearty Ham Casserole

Reviewed: Apr. 22, 2005
I didn't care for this. There were 3 of us that ate it (I customized the recipe for 4) & there were leftovers that were never eaten. Threw away after a few days so I guess it wasn't much of a hit with the other 2 either.

Cheesy Onion Roll-Ups

Reviewed: Nov. 22, 2004
Very good & easy to make. I used 10" soft shells & cut each in fourths. Made them twice & had leftover spread for crackers. These are better if refridgerated overnight or all day. Keep in covered plastic container & cut before serving.

Guy Approved Meatloaf

I thought this was good, but kind of greasy. My "Guy" didn't rave about it but it was a nice change from the normal meatloaf recipe.

Tangy Slow Cooker Pork Roast

Reviewed: Oct. 26, 2004
Tasted good however cooking time took a lot longer then stated. I had it in my slow cooker on high for 6 hours. Also, doubled the marinade as suggested by another review - and added quartered potatoes at the beginning.
