Homemade Flour Tortillas

Reviewed: Jan. 29, 2014
I wanted something like the tortillas made at the tortilla factory in my town. They are amazing. I'll keep looking. For me, these were dry and more like a cracker.

Rich and Creamy Beef Stroganoff

Reviewed: Jan. 21, 2014
This is my new favorite Beef Stroganoff recipe! I was a little bitter about having to share my wine, but it was totally worth it. I didn't use red pepper flakes, because my kid hates spicy. Just a wonderful dish.

Mouth-Watering Stuffed Mushrooms

Reviewed: Jan. 20, 2014
So, first off, I hate mushrooms. That said, I love these little darlings!!!! I added bacon. Add whatever you enjoy. This recipe is highly adaptable. I might have stood in the kitchen and eaten the extra filling right out of the bag. . . but I'll never admit it.

Crustless Spinach Quiche

Reviewed: Jan. 14, 2014
This is a fantastic staple for any chef's repertoire. It is easy to customize to your personal taste or with what you have on hand. I like cheddar. Added browned mushrooms, just because I had them on hand. You could add asparagus. . . anything! I added about a teaspoon of cream of tartar. Wonderful. You will never miss the crust.

Snickerdoodles II

Reviewed: Jan. 13, 2014
Wow! Hold on, I can't type right now because I'm stuffing cookies in my face. Okay, I used regular shortening as directed. I bought it special for this recipe before I read the reviews that some people had used butter. So, I went ahead and used it. I added about 3/4 a cap full of vanilla. Just because. No idea what that turns out to. Maybe 1/8 tsp? A little extra salt only because I used the wrong measuring spoon. Not an overly skilled chef. I found the dough dry and crumbly. It was making me fairly cranky. I squished a ball of dough together, rolled it around the cinn-sugar and dropped it on a parchment lined cookie sheet. I might have made them bigger than the recipe said to. I like cookies. Bigger must be better. Baked them at 375 for the first tray for 8 minutes, expecting to give them more time. Just wanted to keep an eye on them. With two minutes to go, they still looked like cinnamon dough balls. I was not happy. But, I let them bake for another, maybe 6 minutes (checking on them every two minutes) and they turned into the most beautiful, perfectly shaped darlings! Crispy on the outside, soft and fluffy on the inside. Little packages of nummy goodness. Second tray, I bumped up the heat to 400 and made them smaller. I think they took about 11 minutes. Head change didn't seam to make a difference. These are the ultimate, perfect Snickerdoodle. Nicely crackled on top. Perfect texture. Thank you so much for posting this recipe.

Wow. I make this all the time now. It is completely delicious and makes the house smell fantastic. I cut the salt. I have used all-purpose flower and bread flower and a mix. Great all the time. Give it a try! Thank you for the recipe.

Butternut Squash Bisque

This is a wonderful recipe. I have made it several times. Once I added curry for a twist. There is so much you can do or just leave it be. Great with Italian Bread fresh from the oven. . .

Favorite Old Fashioned Gingerbread

Reviewed: Dec. 24, 2013
My family really enjoyed this cake. We did double the molasses, but left everything else the same. It was moist, tender and full of flavor without being over powering. I wanted for something. . I'm not sure what. Maybe a pinch of nutmeg next time? Otherwise, five stars.

Monkey Bread II

Reviewed: Sep. 17, 2013
Wow is this good! And the house smells amazing! We did not include nuts as we are usually not nut people with deserts. However, once munching on it, I could see where they would have been good. Wonderful flavor! Great using the bread machine to help with the work. I love the biscuits in a tube for some things, but this is much better. Made it exactly as described but added a pinch of cinnamon to the butter sauce.

Awesome and Easy Creamy Corn Casserole

It was fine. A little too much egg taste. I added onions as some reviews suggested. May try it again with less egg, cheese, no onion.
