Horseradish Deviled Eggs

WOW! The horseradish is the punch that deviled eggs need. And I used hot creamed horseradish and it was perfect. I did add a little more mayo because we like them creamier.

Colleen's Slow Cooker Jambalaya

Family loved this. Found it rather soupy too, so added Minute rice right before serving to soak up extra liquids. Made serving super easy to have rice already mixed in.

Sweet And Sour Glazed Chicken

I have used this same recipe for years. It is not bland and it's become a standard for all family members from 2 yrs old to 80! I too use boneless chicken, in fact FROZEN breast filets from Costco. No need to thaw at all. I do only use 1 packet of onion soup mix in my recipe and it covers about 20-25 filets. Double sauce if you use the entire bag of filets. Enjoy!

Mom's Seafood Pasta Salad for a Crowd

Great starter salad but some changes seemed to make it better. Too dry for 16 servings, so figured on only 8 so only used 1 lb of pasta. But once made, there was plenty for more! For the dressing, I increased mayo to 2 cups, then used 1/2 cup Italian Dressing (Bernstein) & 1/2 cup Catalina (you can play around with other dressings too) & I added 1.5 Tablespoons of Old Bay, as other's have done. Mixed all together and used 1/2 of the mix on the cooked pasta. Let chill for 3 hrs, then added the seafood & the rest of the dressing mix. I only used 1 can of Albacore Tuna (drained), 1 lb of fresh salad shrimp, and added a package of immatation crab (shredded). I also added 2-3 cups of shredded Mozzarella cheese. And it does get better each day, YUMMY!

Oriental Chicken Salad

The dressing alone is 5 stars! Will use it with other recipes as well. I did make some changes in the salad part. I used a bag of cole slaw cabbage mix instead of the lettuce. The slaw mix has great coloring and it was not only crunchy for first serving, but it retains some crunchiness for leftovers. I also used LaChoy Rice Noodles instead of Chow Mein. (They're smaller in size). Family loved it, even picky son-in-law!

Dough Ornament Recipe

I use to sell Bread Dough Ornaments, so here's some "professional" advise. Use cut up paper clips (each clip will give you 3 units) for the hangers, easier than making holes and looks better too. Also you can use cake food coloring paste to color the dough instead of painting it afterwards. Keeping dough in zip lock bags work for a few days and then just add either water or flour to freshen up. It's not necessary to roll out flat. I did some pretty thick ornaments and used a lower degree (200) for a longer time. Less puffing. Use a garlic press to create hair & beards. Lots of fun!!!

Cheese Straws

Used food processor & it worked wonderfully. Added dashes of Worchester Sause to help blend, but no milk or water, and left out the hot pepper. Also, rolled in large tubes first and hardened in refr., then cut into 1/4" slices and used a heart shape cookie cutter. Daughter married on Valentine's Day and these added to our heart cut cheese tray were a big hit!

It is not necessary to fry- put rumaki in 350 oven and bake until bacon is crisp. Saves calories and mess
