Fried Mozzarella Cheese Sticks

Reviewed: Nov. 8, 2013
This recipe is tasty and very simple! I used a block of mozzarella cheese (not a very large one, and I got 16 pieces out of it) instead of the cheese sticks. I didn't have the corn starch, but it was fine without it. I just mixed the dry ingredients together, did a double dip with the egg mixture and dry ingredients, and put them in the freezer for about an hour. Once I took them out, it only took a few minutes to cook them all (I used a skillet on the stove). Tasty and very economical!

King Cake

Reviewed: Mar. 10, 2014
I am not a bread baker and don't usually work with yeast, so I was worried about trying to make this. However, I did, and the results were great! I followed the recipe exactly (only 1.5 on the filling, as others suggested and reducing the amount of lemon juice in the glaze). Otherwise, it was easier than I thought it would be! It is time consuming though, the "ready in" time listed on here is probably two hours too short. My dough didn't seem like it was rising very quickly at all, and after an hour of waiting, I just turned my oven on to 200 and sat the bowl on top of the stove (just to warm it up a bit) and that worked perfectly. I have a lot of family in New Orleans, and I've had my share of King Cakes, and this one was delicious. My kids were not a fan of the cream cheese filling, but my husband and I loved it. I had him take it to work, and they finished it off. It's a pretty good size, bigger than I thought it would be. I will definitely make this again, but maybe I'll change up the filling so my kids will eat it too. :)

Orzo and Rice

Reviewed: Oct. 26, 2013
This is a very good side dish. I'm glad I took others advice to add a little more seasoning or it would have been bland. I added garlic and onion while I was browning the orzo, and I used one can of chicken broth and 2 bouillon cubes and water to supplement the rest (I did double the recipe). It was very tasty, and even with the extra flavor added, it was a mild dish. Very good.

Garlic Chicken

Reviewed: Oct. 26, 2013
This recipe was absolutely delicious, and very easy to make! It was a hit in my house. I doubled the recipe (I had five large breasts which I cut in half) and it worked out just fine. I did add salt and pepper to the breasts before I coated them and I used italian style bread crumbs. This one is a winner.
