About this Cook
My husband and I both love to cook and eat, so it works out well!
My favorite things to cook
Sushi mm-mmm! Casseroles, cookies, pies, Indian cuisine, roasts, pasta.
My favorite family cooking traditions
We try to cook a new gourmet meal every saturday night, and they're always delicious, thanks to this site!
My cooking triumphs
Leg of lamb baked in a dill salt dough, beating the mother-in-law's lasagna ;), every time someone asks for a recipe, chicken kiev.
My cooking tragedies
One time I made some perch in foil, but left it in the foil for probably about 45 minutes to an hour, and all you could taste was the metal. YUCK!

WOW! I don't get "wow'd" by most Asian recipes that call for such simple ingredients. This is the exception! I did make the following changes: tripled sauce, used jarred minced ginger, and added about 3 TB jarred sliced lemon grass, and used a mixture of canola oil and sesame oil. Like the author says - don't let the simple ingredients fool you! This is SO worth it and SO easy!

We just got back from spending time in Europe, where the muesli was cheap, delicious, and abundant. Muesli here in the US is WAY overpriced for some reason, so I decided to try to make my own. This is great, and tastes so similar to what I was missing with the following changes: I omitted the brown sugar and added 1/4 C ground flax seeds, 1/2 C whole wheat flakes, and 1/2 C toasted hazelnuts.

Easy Whipped Cream
I reduced the sour cream slightly based on previous reviews - hubby's first words after first taste: "we're never buying it in a can again."
