Best Ever Banana Bread

What a fantastic recipe! The only substitution I made was unsweetened applesauce instead of the oil. Very moist bread without being overly sweet.

Slow-Cooked White Chili

Reviewed: Oct. 7, 2009
Instead of a slow cooker, I sauteed the onion, garlic & chicken in a dutch oven. I added remaining ingredients and simmered until the cannellini beans started to fall apart. In lieu of water, I used 32 oz. chicken broth, which I believe added more flavor. Next time, will add chopped celery and green pepper for additional flavor.

Soft Oatmeal Cookies

Love this recipe. I like the fact it just uses butter without shortening or oil. Added a 6 oz. bag of dried cranberries and a couple handfuls of Giradelli's dark chocolate chips. Very moist with a great flavor.

Pecan Sandies

Reviewed: Sep. 27, 2009
I made these cookies tonight and think the flavor is really good. I followed another reviewer and used 1/2 white sugar; 1/2 brown sugar. I rolled my first batch in sugar, as written. For us, they were way too sweet so they rest were baked without the additional sugar. Baked a couple batches on parchment and some without. The cookies baked on parchment spread more resulting in a thinner cookie. Had no problems with cookie sticking without the parchment. I used a cookie scooper and did not bother to roll them - they maintained a beautiful shape. Next time, I would reduce the amount of oil and either use butter or applesauce.

Butternut Squash Soup II

Reviewed: Sep. 22, 2009
I've been looking for a good dairy-free squash soup. I roasted the Butternut Squash in the oven the night before and just added the cooked squash to the soup. I found my soup to be thick, so I added 8 oz of chicken stock to the 32 oz Vegetable stock I used. I would just add 1 potato next time. Also added a Macintosh apple & Pumpkin Pie Spice. Would consider adding fresh Ginger next time. Used Immersion blender to puree at the end. Thanks for a great recipe!

Fantastic! I added about 6oz shredded cheddar cheese to mixture and omitted the parmesan cheese on top. Baked for about 20 minutes in a 350 degree oven. Many compliments.

Good recipe. Definitely only use 1/2 the bread crumbs. We grilled 5-6 minutes each side. Just a little dry. Will add 1 egg white next time. Good flavor.

Frogmore Stew

Made this recipe for a group of friends - it was delicious! The kitchen smelled wonderful. Added one bottle of Honey Brown beer to water and some frozen crab legs with the shrimp. Next time, I would add a couple of bay leaves to the water, too.
