Coffee Cake. Literally.

Reviewed: Apr. 20, 2015
Oh my word... if only I could rate it a 10. This cake was fantastic! It was all gone within 24 hours. Super moist and it was like having a sweetened cup of coffee. The only adjustments that I had to make was to increase the cook time about 10 minutes (used a 9x13 glass dish), and added a bit more coffee to the frosting. Our family likes strong coffee. Everyone of us (there are 3) really enjoyed this cake. Fantastic recipe and a keeper for sure. Thanks!

Peanut Butter Cake

Reviewed: Feb. 14, 2015
As my step son said this is "the" peanut butter cake to continue to make. He even stated that we should always have the ingredients on hand to make one once the other gets eaten. This cake was fantastic! I made two changes as I didn't have the ingredients called for (well I had butter). I chose to use Crisco butter flavored baking sticks in place of the butter, and condensed milk. Was just an awesomely peanut buttery cake. I was unable to make the icing as I ran out of milk and it was late, but I can only imagine that it's as wonderful as the cake was. Thanks for a keeper.

Soft Oatmeal Cookies

Reviewed: Feb. 4, 2015
Awesome taste. However, they are crumbling even following the recommendations of others. Perhaps one less cup of oatmeal. Sadly this will be the first and last time I will make these .

Pumpkin Sheet Cake

Reviewed: Nov. 20, 2014
Fantastic cake! Step son was eating a piece and I got mmm good. He normally isn't too vocal about the things that I cook, but when he likes it he lets me know. I myself have had a piece and this recipe is fabulous as is, but I would like to try the applesauce suggestion later. Thank you for a great cake!

Chili Seasoning Mix II

Reviewed: Nov. 9, 2014
This seasoning smells fantastic. After putting the chili together, and while it's cooking it smells great. I followed the recipe as it is, but followed the advice of CookingMama and added extra chili powder and I omitted the flour. I have thrown it into the slow cooker for this evening's dinner. Can't wait! After eating the chili it has a bit of heat to it so be prepared for a kick in the mouth! This stuff was fantastic thanks for sharing.

Snickerdoodle Cake

Reviewed: Oct. 27, 2014
Snickerdoodlicious! After forgetting one egg and having a hard time getting the icing to what I considered a good consistency, this cake is fantastic even with those few accidents. Mind you this is the first time I have made homemade icing and decided to give it a go. I think perhaps it calls for a bit too much butter in the icing and not quite enough powdered sugar. So you may want to work a bit with that ratio. I also made my cake in a 9 x 13 glass baking dish and it worked perfect. Otherwise I did this to the letter (except the extra egg of course LOL), and loved it. It does indeed taste like a snickerdoodle. Added to the recipe box.

Chicken Fried Chicken

Reviewed: Oct. 24, 2014
This recipe is fantastic!!! My family gobbled it up. The only change that I made was that I didn't have regular seasoning salt so I used Mediterranean. I followed the previous recommendations about flattening the breasts and soaking them in milk. I flatted mine and put them into a milk bath for an hour. Loved it!

Amazing Pork Tenderloin in the Slow Cooker

Reviewed: Aug. 16, 2014
This was fanfreakintastic! I know most people don't like adjustments, and I am not here to do that. I didn't have the wine or soy sauce as was called for. I substituted the wine with a 3/4 cup of water and a cube of beef bullion. Everything was to the letter except that I used a pepper medley rather than opting for the black pepper. Came out tender and smelled heavenly. I took the sauce and made a gravy with it as well. I had more water I believe than another post so I had to add 4 tbsp of cornstarch to the juice to get it to turn into gravy. We almost gobbled up the entire dinner. There are very few left overs. This is definitely a keeper. Thanks for a great recipe!

Breakfast Cake

Reviewed: Jul. 27, 2014
The taste factor was great, but this cake is very dry and really dense. I followed the instructions with one exception - I had to substitute the shortening with butter. As I have read from others perhaps adding egg to this recipe will help with the flat outcome.

Slow Cooker Chicken and Dumplings

Reviewed: Jun. 21, 2014
This recipe is fantastic as is! If you want a pot pie then add the veggies (I am not a fan of pot pies), but if you want chicken n' dumplings - this is amazing stuff. My only complaint about this is that they don't give the size of slow cookers like they do baking pans/dishes. Everyone has a different size. So I would suggest posting what size cooker you are using to make this recipe also. It doesn't state to shred the chicken before adding the dumplings, but I did. Otherwise, why mess with perfection? Hubby, step-son and I gobbled up the entire pot for dinner (I made with three breast halves). Thank you for a wonderful addition to the recipe box!

Fluffy Pancakes

Reviewed: Jun. 1, 2014
Awesome! Easy to make and cooked up light and fluffy. The entire plate got gobbled up by hubby, step-son and I at breakfast. This recipe yields enough for three adults in my opinion according to the 1/4 cup method. We loved them! Thanks for the recipe.

German Apple Cake I

Reviewed: Jan. 28, 2014
This cake was fantastic as is. Just a bit on the sweet side, but we loved it in my house. Made the entire house smell like apples and cinnamon. The top of the cake was crispy and the inside was nice and moist. I didn't put any frosting on this cake. My family and I enjoyed it as is. We gobbled it up within a few days. Awesome recipe.
