About this Cook
I'm a Veteran!
My favorite things to cook
Desserts are fun mostly cakes because they are easy.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Beans, however I use a slow cooker which is cheating but they are so good. I love my mother's black-eyed peas. Yummy!
My cooking triumphs
Will post something soon!
My cooking tragedies
I tend to burn my biscuits because I'm too busy doing other things. Too many irons in the fire! ^_^

Breakfast Cake
The taste factor was great, but this cake is very dry and really dense. I followed the instructions with one exception - I had to substitute the shortening with butter. As I have read from others perhaps adding egg to this recipe will help with the flat outcome.

Slow Cooker Chicken and Dumplings
This recipe is fantastic as is! If you want a pot pie then add the veggies (I am not a fan of pot pies), but if you want chicken n' dumplings - this is amazing stuff. My only complaint about this is that they don't give the size of slow cookers like they do baking pans/dishes. Everyone has a different size. So I would suggest posting what size cooker you are using to make this recipe also. It doesn't state to shred the chicken before adding the dumplings, but I did. Otherwise, why mess with perfection? Hubby, step-son and I gobbled up the entire pot for dinner (I made with three breast halves). Thank you for a wonderful addition to the recipe box!

Fluffy Pancakes
Awesome! Easy to make and cooked up light and fluffy. The entire plate got gobbled up by hubby, step-son and I at breakfast. This recipe yields enough for three adults in my opinion according to the 1/4 cup method. We loved them! Thanks for the recipe.
