10 Pound Cheesecake

Reviewed: May 18, 2009
Made this for a church gathering. I used shredded coconut in the crust in place of the sugar and also added crushed walnuts. Excellent. Very easy to make and has a wonderful presence. Thanks for posting it.

Creme Fraiche

This is a good recipe. However, I prefer to let mine cure on a shelf in my kitchen and not the refrigerator. Mine comes out thicker than this.

Baked Fake Steak with Gravy

Very tasty. Made exactly as recipe said. The only thing I would do differently next time would be to double the sauce. Everything was delicious.

Super Easy Scones

Reviewed: Mar. 26, 2009
I followed recipe. I used 7up as per one reviewer and these scones...word used very loosely...were awful. They were bland, flat and very tasteless. Don't waste your time.

Buttercream Icing

Reviewed: Jul. 7, 2009
I made this for the first time and iced my sons wedding cake. It was four tiers high. I was a nervous wreck. The icing tastes wonderful. I read the reviews so I subbed butter for the shortening. Delicious!!

Home Made Farmer's Cheese

Reviewed: Apr. 25, 2009
I made this using the vinegar instead of the lemon juice. It was fantastic. After it drained for a day or so I added some garlic and onion powder and a tad bit of parsley to it, oh and a little bit of salt. It is delicious on crusty french bread. I tried some yesterday with a couple of mandarin oranges cut into it. The difference in the two textures was wonderful. I think I will try this again and add different spices this time. The variety of tastes you can give this cheese is endless.

Just a tiny bit bland. I added some crushed red pepper flakes and that kicked it up a notch. Loved it otherwise!

Banana Pudding I

Reviewed: Jan. 17, 2011
Took raters advice and used 6 egg yolks instead of 3 eggs. It was an okay pudding. I wouldn't say fabulous but it was okay. Easy to prepare. I used 1 cup of milk and 1 cup of heavy cream so the thickening time was not that much.

Did not care for the texture of these cookies. Not crispy at all. Kiddies were highly anticipating these and were left wanting. Sorry, will not make these again.

Indian-Style Butter Chicken (Murgh Makhani)

Reviewed: Mar. 17, 2009
This was an excellent recipe. Easy to prepare and very tasty. The only substitution I made was using cayenne pepper for the crushed red pepper. I can't imagine it tasting all that different with the crushed red peppers versus the cayenne pepper. This is a definate keeper. My hubby loved it as well as children. Not too bad if I don't say so myself.

This dish had a decent flavor. I added a quarter of a teaspoon of powdered garlic. I also used a very mild curry powder. It really was delicious and easy to prepare.

Slow Cooker Chicken Continental

Reviewed: Dec. 25, 2008
This is a really easy and good recipe. I made one change. I did not have dried beef and didn't have time to go to the store and look for it so I used roast beef I had from the deli. It was cut on the thin side. Everything else was done according to recipe directions. I did cook it in the oven versus the crockpot. I really enjoyed this. So did my family. We served it over rice. Aslo a good recipe side for this is the sauteed curry corn, also from this site. Excellent combination. A little heavy on the carb count but worth every bite of calorie!!!

Chicken with Lemon-Caper Sauce

Reviewed: Nov. 9, 2008
This recipe is not only easy but versatile. I used it on top of different types of fish. It was delicious too. I tried it on Tilapia, Salmon and Haddock. I prefer it over the Tilapia since that fish has a milder flavor.
