Hot Pepper Jelly

Reviewed: Feb. 16, 2009
I gave it four stars based on flavor. I could not get this to set up properly. The flavor is good. I increased the jalapenos to 1/2 cup and it was still not hot enough. Pretty color and my peppers are floating throughout the mixture, not just on top. Overall a good recipe will try again another time to get it to set.

Oatmeal and Applesauce Pancakes

Reviewed: Jan. 29, 2009
The only substitution I made to this recipe was using buttermilk instead of plain milk. Everything else was done as directed. Delicious results. Light, fluffy, and moist. Would definately use again. Granddaughter loved them...daughter too!!!!

Best meatloaf I have ever tasted. Loved it. Will definately make again. I made it for my hubby, son, his friend, me, and my grandbaby. No Leftovers to be found. My son was licking the pan I cooked it in. Thanks for posting

Logan Bread

Reviewed: Jan. 28, 2009
Very easy to make and very tasty. I went a little crazy in adding more ingredients. I added a handful of coconut flakes and some sesame seeds for some more crunch. Very good. I look forward to trying different types of dried fruits in this recipe. Definately a keeper.

Red Wine Cake

Reviewed: Jan. 28, 2009
I followed the directions and amounts to the tee. The results were a delicious, moist chocolate cake. I did not ice it. I felt like it was fine the way it was. Very easy to make, although I agree with a previous reviewer on the order of the ingredients. This cake is not exceptionally sweet but it is sweet. I would definately make this again.

Sweet Potato Rolls

Reviewed: Jan. 28, 2009
Great tasting bread. I had to use a lot more flour than what the recipe called for but other than that it had a great flavor. My family definately loved this one. It is a keeper.

Brown Rice

Reviewed: Jan. 14, 2009
This recipe is easy. I didn't want to wait for it to bake in the oven, especially after reading all the posts of it not being done after the allotted time, so I microwaved it for 30 minutes. Perfect!! I just mixed everything in a micro safe bowl and zapped it. No problems.

Traditional Pita Bread

Reviewed: Jan. 5, 2009
These have a good flavor. I will let them cook a little longer next time to achieve that browner look. Nice texture and good flavor. I may try adding some garlic powder to the mix to make a little garlicy flavor pita next time.

Bombay Chicken and Rice

This dish had a decent flavor. I added a quarter of a teaspoon of powdered garlic. I also used a very mild curry powder. It really was delicious and easy to prepare.

Oh-So-Good Chicken

Easy and good. I only made two changes. One, I used canned mushrooms instead of fresh and two I only used 8 oz. salsa. That was plenty for us. Otherwise a good recipe. A keeper!

Pralines

This was a good authentic praline recipe. I am from New Orleans and ate these while growing up. Now, I live in OK and there are not any good pralines to be found. Now, I can make my own.

Slow Cooker Chicken Continental

Reviewed: Dec. 25, 2008
This is a really easy and good recipe. I made one change. I did not have dried beef and didn't have time to go to the store and look for it so I used roast beef I had from the deli. It was cut on the thin side. Everything else was done according to recipe directions. I did cook it in the oven versus the crockpot. I really enjoyed this. So did my family. We served it over rice. Aslo a good recipe side for this is the sauteed curry corn, also from this site. Excellent combination. A little heavy on the carb count but worth every bite of calorie!!!
