Deep Dark Chocolate Cake

Reviewed: Jan. 30, 2006
This wasn't what I expected but it was delicious. The consistency was almost like a brownie, very dense and moist. The sweetness was just right and it was good and chocolatey. I didn't make the frosting but instead poured chocolate icing (One Minute Chocolate Icing) over the top.

Shrimp Lemon Pepper Linguini

Reviewed: Jan. 30, 2006
Very good, very easy...we really enjoyed this one. The only change I made was to add some capers along with the lemon...so yummy.

One Minute Chocolate Icing

Reviewed: Jan. 30, 2006
Gooey and delicious. I don't think I would attempt to spread this frosting on a cake as it's very sticky and thick...but it was perfect poured, warm over a cake. It sets up nice once it cools.

Creamy Au Gratin Potatoes

Reviewed: Jan. 28, 2006
This was okay. It would probably be a lot better if I wasn't in the-middle-of-nowhere-Japan and could get a hold of some decent cheddar cheese. As is, it was pretty bland.

Asian Tuna Patties

Reviewed: Jan. 28, 2006
These were awesome! I didn't have any cornmeal but they turned out fine without it...I cooked them in sesame oil and made some pineapple chutney to go with them. So delicious!

Cream Cheese, Garlic, and Chive Stuffed Chicken

Reviewed: Jan. 28, 2006
I wasn't terribly impressed with this one. The chicken was a bit bland, but that's probably because I left off the bacon. I might try it again with the bacon and add some herbs and more garlic.

Teriyaki Sauce

I needed some Teriyaki Sauce at the last minute and this recipe worked out great. I won't be going back to the bottled stuff anymore.

Simple Sicilian Salad Dressing

Reviewed: Jan. 28, 2006
I love the versatility of this recipe. You can add all kinds of extras to suit your taste. I mixed in a pinch of sugar and some roasted garlic...everyone loved it. To the reviewer who complained that the oil and vinegar kept separating, some basic chemistry lessons may be in order.

Black Bottom Cupcakes I

Reviewed: Jan. 27, 2006
I accidentally found this recipe and I'm so glad I did. I don't think they need icing, they are sweet and moist enough as is. I greased and floured the muffin tins first and had no problems getting them out. Really, really good.

Braised Balsamic Chicken

Reviewed: Jan. 25, 2006
This was awesome. The flavor is definitely strong, but we like it that way. It makes plenty of sauce so it was perfect served over angel hair pasta. This will be a regular on our table.

Maple Salmon

Reviewed: Jan. 25, 2006
This was delicious...though next time I'll let the salmon marinate a bit longer. I wrapped the fish and marinade in a foil packet before baking which made it very moist. I'll definitely make this again.

So, so good...a lot of flavor in such an easy dish. I added some fresh garlic and basil and used hot Italian sausage. Just delicious.

Deviled Eggs II

Reviewed: Jan. 21, 2006
These lacked something...not much flavor. Next time I'll add some relish and a bit more mustard. You definitely have to add more mayo, they are way too dry as is.

Asian Salmon

Reviewed: Jan. 11, 2006
Wonderful flavor...I wrapped the salmon along with the marinade in a foil packet before baking and it came out nice and moist. I left the dill out of the rice and served it over plain rice with the sauce. I also added a little fresh ginger to the marinade.
