Shrimp and Mushroom Linguini with Creamy Cheese Herb Sauce

Reviewed: Jul. 21, 2008
We really enjoyed this one. I doubled the cream cheese since we like a lot of sauce and used milk instead of water. Really, really good.

Honey Chicken Stir-Fry

This was delicious. My stir-fry hating husband even liked it. I like how versatile this recipe is, you can add pretty much any vegetable you'd like.

Pretty good, a bit dry though...not as creamy as I would have liked.

Italian Zucchini Saute

Reviewed: May 22, 2008
I thought this was really good. I didn't use quite as much salt as called for and I used fresh herbs instead of dried. It made a great side dish.

A super easy alternative to lasagna, and a lot cheaper too.

Skillet Herbed Chicken with Mustard

Reviewed: Apr. 26, 2008
Didn't love it, might be better if the chicken was browned first instead of just being "poached" in wine. Probably won't try this one again.

Japanese Zucchini and Onions

Reviewed: Apr. 23, 2008
So yummy! I used a little sesame oil in place of the vegetable oil to give a bit more flavor.

Grilled Salmon I

Reviewed: Apr. 23, 2008
Very good...the brown sugar gives it a nice caramelized crust on the grill. I didn't have time to really let it marinate long, just 30 minutes at room temperature, so I wasn't expecting much...but I was really surprised just how much flavor it had. We will definitely use this recipe again.

Garlic Prawns

Reviewed: Apr. 21, 2008
So very good! I marinated for about six hours instead of one and the flavor was delicious. Don't forget to soak wood skewers in cold water first for an hour or you'll have matchsticks on the grill.

Brown Family's Favorite Pumpkin Pie

Maybe I'm not really a pumpkin pie person...but this recipe seemed kinda "blah." Not particularly memorable.

Robust Garlic Baked Chicken

Reviewed: Mar. 23, 2008
The herbs and lemon gave this chicken a delicious strong flavor. I cut the butter in half and it was still a bit too "buttery." The cooking time was also way too short. To make sure it was moist, I brined the chicken first (1/4c.sugar, 1/4c. kosher salt, 8 cups cold water) for a couple of hours in the fridge. This would have been a five star recipe if it wasn't for all the butter.

Special Deviled Eggs

So yummy...definitely a classic. The horseradish gives it a nice kick, not too bland - not too spicy.

Hot Artichoke and Spinach Dip II

Reviewed: Dec. 30, 2007
This was really good. The only change I made was to mix in the mozzarella instead of just using it as a topping. Served with tortilla chips.

Classic Bran Muffins

Reviewed: Nov. 8, 2006
I know bran muffins are supposed to be a bit "heavy," but I must have not soaked the bran long enough, as these were extremly cardboard like. Great flavor though.

Baked Potato Soup I

Reviewed: Nov. 8, 2006
This was so nice on a cold, rainy day. The only change I made was to use the drippings from the bacon instead of butter. Not very healthy, but healthy isn't what you're going for when you make potato soup.
