Real Hummus

Reviewed: Sep. 27, 2013
I like to make this for when I have guests over and serve it with some garlic pita chips, carrots sticks, and sugar snap peas. I follow the changes updated by the author in his review and it turns out perfect. The garlic flavor does come out a bit more after a few hours in the fridge.

Easy Indian Butter Chicken

Reviewed: Sep. 27, 2013
This is one of my favorite recipes. It is SO simple and turns out much tastier than you would imagine with such a simple list of ingredients. The only modifications I make are the ones suggested in the reviews by the author just to make it a little healthier-- I agree that it turns out just as good with the evaporated milk and reduced amount of butter. Serving it over basmati rice topped with some fresh cilantro is a must!

Chicken Tikka Masala

Reviewed: Sep. 27, 2013
Chicken tikka masala is one of my favorite foods. I have had it at a number of different restaurants and tried out at least 5 different recipes, but this one is my go-to recipe. It is easy and the ingredients are much more readily available than in some recipes you will find, but it still tastes authentic (well, as authentic as your typical anglo-indian restuarant). I made a few minor changes to tweak the flavor: I replace the cumin/cinnamon/pepper mix with 5 tsp garam masala. I add cayenne pepper to the sauce- about 1 tsp is enough to make it about medium heat. I only use about half the salt this recipe calls for.

Raspberry Iced Tea Cupcakes

Reviewed: Sep. 27, 2013
Delicious! They are more work than your average cupcake recipe, but the extra touches like the cream filling and interesting flavors make them perfect for a special occasion. I made these for my friend's bridal shower and copied the decorating from the picture posted by another reivewr and they turned out great. Everyone thought I had bought them from a fancy bakery.

Slow Cooker Buffalo Chicken Sandwiches

Reviewed: Sep. 27, 2013
Yum! This recipe is so easy to make and turns out great every time. I have used Frank's buffalo sauce and Sweet Baby Ray's buffalo sauce and both worked great. I don't add the butter at the end because I don't think it needs it. I top my sandwiches with crumbled blue cheese and lettuce. This would be a great recipe to double and make for a party.

Quinoa and Black Beans

Reviewed: Sep. 27, 2013
The perfect recipe. Healthy, easy, and delicious. I like to double it since it is just as easy and it reheats well. Using fresh cilantro is a must-- I've made it before with dried cilantro since I didn't have any fresh on hand and it was still good, but the fresh cilantro makes it really stand out. Like other reviews have noted, 1 can of beans is enough for the recipe as written.

Spaghetti Squash I

Reviewed: Sep. 27, 2013
I bought a spaghetti squash and wasn't quite sure what to do with it-- I came across this recipe and it turned out great. I have made it several times now and wouldn't make any changes to the recipe. It did take about 50 minutes for the squash to actually be tender enough, so I would just recommend following the recipe's tip about checking it with a knife to make sure it is done.

Cream Cheese Frosting II

Reviewed: Sep. 27, 2013
I have made this many times. Best frosting recipe ever. I use it when I make Pumpkin Spice Cake or Red Velvet Cake. It is very rich tasting and not overly sweet.

Chicken Yakisoba

Reviewed: Sep. 27, 2013
Great recipe! I created an account just so I could review this. I made it on a whim and now it has entered into my regular rotation of dinners. It is easy, healthy, and delicious. I use whatever vegetables I have on hand, which have included sugar snap peas, carrots, edamame, and peas. Sometimes I add scrambled egg. I add a little less soy sauce than the recipe calls for, since as other reviewers noted, it can turn out a little too salty. I use sriracha sauce for the chili paste and the flavor is amazing. I usually drizzle a little extra sesame oil on the soba noodles to keep them from getting sticky and to add a little more flavor.
