Chocolate Covered Cherries

Reviewed: Nov. 12, 2010
I have made thousands and thousands of chocolate covered cherries (with a different recipe), and I sell them by the dozen. Just a few tips, you do not need to let them harden after wrapping them, after making thousands, I decided that was a step that was totally not necessary, I wrap them with the stem sticking out, and immediately dip in the chocolate, and put in a clear plastic mini muffin container with a paper liner, and wala, done with it. I leave the stems on because when they are on a tray with other candy, it is very obvious of what this candy is, I think it is kind of unique, and even in the mini muffin containers, it looks nice with the stems in. The wrapping won't totally turn liquid but will get juicier with time. I store them in the refrigerator, they can also be frozen.

White Almond Wedding Cake

Reviewed: Nov. 9, 2010
Wow, after reading a ton of the reviews on this, I expected a great cake. To me it just tasted like a regular cake mix with added almond flavoring. Other than that, it didn't seem to change the texture at all. I followed the recipe to a T. I make and decorate cakes all the time and on the lookout for new recipes, but not this one.

Cream Cheese Cookie Cups

Reviewed: Dec. 3, 2009
If you want to make this even quicker, I make these with snickerdoodle cookie dough, dry package (according to directions) or ready made little squares (in the frig section), then I use the Philadelpia Cheesecake in the tub (next to the cream cheese). I bake the cookie, make sure not to overbake, because they will get really hard, as soon as they come out of the oven, I use my Pampered Chef wooden tool (not sure of the name), but it makes a perfect cup shape. Sometimes I put a chocolate button (that I use for other candy, you could use chocolate chips), let that melt, then spread around, let cool. Then I use my cake decorator bag to pipe in the cream cheese mixture, then I top with drizzled chocolate, or a fresh cut up strawberry, or a cherry from canned pie filling. Keep them in the frig. (I wouldn't want to use the cheesecake tub for a whole cheesecake, but for these, it is great.) Wonderful, everyone loves these! I was surprised to see this recipe, I thought I made it up!! I call it Cheesecakes Bites. I had wanted to try the cheesecake mixture and I had the snickerdoodle cookie dough, and threw them together for a ladies group meeting. I call it my semi-homemade recipe.

Oatmeal Raisin Cookies IV

Reviewed: Sep. 23, 2008
This is my first time to make oatmeal cookies, but it is what my boss wanted for his birthday. I did make it into one big cookie and it tasted wonderful. Everyone in the office loved it. I did add some cinnamon and nutmeg, but it is moist and not hard at all. I won't even bother trying another recipe, I'll just stick with this one.

Best Big, Fat, Chewy Chocolate Chip Cookie

Reviewed: Aug. 15, 2008
I made this into one big cookie for work, and it turned out great, and got rave reviews, and my specialty is cakes, not cookies. I did use margarine,as I forgot to buy butter. I made the dough on Sunday, put in the frig until Monday (to save time)night and baked, it was wonderful. The dough was hard, but I just spooned it out and put on the pizza pan and patted it together with my hand. Loved the texture of this. This will be chocochip cookie recipe from now on.

Classic Macaroni Salad

Reviewed: Jul. 7, 2008
I just made this for July 4th, first time ever making macaroni salad, and everyone really liked it. I did make changes (personal taste), I used the mayo that is made with olive oil (lower fat)and added eggs, pickles, carrots, grated cheese and made the sauce the night before then added it right before we ate it so it would be creamier, hubby said he would even of like more sauce on it. I did not add all the sugar, just didn't seem right, or the peppers or celery, I forgot to buy pimentos, or I would have added them. This is a great recipe to make your own, the sauce is great, then just add your ingredients to your own taste.

Hummingbird Cake III

Reviewed: Jun. 16, 2008
I made this for a birthday work party. Everyone loved it (except 2 who didn't like pineapple, their loss!). Next time I will try it with less oil though. I did put a layer of frosting in between 2 9 inch layers with some more pineapple and bananas. Will definitely make again.

Aunt Ro's Baked Beans

Reviewed: Jun. 4, 2008
I thought these were really great. I followed the recipe, except added the bacon to the dish while cooking. Next time I don't think I would put them in the slow cooker, just mix them together the night before, then just bake in the oven. Will definitely make again. My husband also thought they were great.

Cheesy Potato Salad

Reviewed: Jun. 4, 2008
Everyone thought this was really great, a nice diversion from regular potato salad. I did not add the sugar, just didn't seem to need it. For leftovers, I heated it, wonderful, just like a baked potato. Next time, I will make it as a warm salad. I did add equal amounts of sour cream and mayo, and added more bacon into the salad. Really, really good.
